the looks of armor.? (noob alert)

i havent played psu in a while since like a month ago cause of the demo on the marketplace. Does any1 think that when you equip armor that it should show on ur character? insted of being invisable? (noob question)

yeah, armor are not really armor. Can't really remember where they explain it (story mode?) but it does explain how you cab be protected even while not weaing clothes, thanks to the photon line thingies.
I cant remember it well, but it sort of made sense.

i just would like to have new stuff but like old stuff to i wish they could make something cause all the characters in psu almost look the same just different clothes i would like to cover him in liek mega armor though..

Well, in PSO, they all wore the same clothes, and the barrier could change. In PSU, it's the other way around. At least you can mix and match clothes and not worry about sacrificing stats for looks. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Alright everyone, guess what?

They are called line SHIELDS. When you get hit, you get a barrier/shield that appears. The higher the rank the bigger the shield. Different makers have different color shields. GRM has blue, Tenora has orange/red, Yohmei has green.

When I saw 300 last week, of course I was hipped, and I thought of a new advanced job using left handed Shields with defensive and attack moves. Yeah, that's not new, it's called a Crusader in RO (for example) but Vanda-like enemies protect themselves crossing their arms, and rogues roll on the ground... we players have an important lack of defensive moves -.-

The reason it doen't look like armor is in the item's description: Line-Shield. If you had actual visible armor, what's the point of clothes or that fact that some clothes may cut through/conflict with the armor's design. Bad enough hair does that along with some cast parts. More things for this game to render real-time. I would like to see the shields back like Custom Barrier and Kasumi Bracer.

I do like the line-shield system, but I demand that they give back our shields and barriers, but the line-shields are definitely a step up from the old invisible frames.

Yep. At least you can see the element on you along with your clothes. Better than having a set style for the whole game. You could pay 10k to change your color from a set of pre-made sets, but now you can choose you elemental armor and your clothes. Would be nice to see an arm shield or barrier unit though I like the shield pattern that pops up when you block depending on the company that makes the armor.

I also hear for special line-shields when you block it will do a special effect. Like the Rappy armor (forget the exact name) makes rappy feathers appear when you block an attack.
