Synthing Items

I have a level 100 pm and somehow have managed to fail 3 straight mayrods and 2 straight howrods. Each one with around a 50% chance. Is that normal? If i flipped a coin 5 times the odds of me getting heads 5 times are pretty rare. So the only thing i can think of is that I havnt made any items besides trying to make these A ranks. Does the amount of items you synthesized in the past come into play? Thanks for the help.

no the amount of items synthed makes no difference.
I attempted 5 jogiris and failed all 5 recently, and I've synthed a lot of weapons on that PM, including some very nice S ranks
