I was in a ULT game in ruins with two of my friends and i used a photon blast. As soon as i used the PB the screen froze completly, and my game cube kept making this strange beeping sound. I tried to reset the cube but it wouldn't, so i just turned off the power. When i got back on, all my items that weren't equiped were gone, including my spread needle. The strange thing is, is that my needle was equiped, but when i went on it was gone and in place of it was my red handgun that i also had on me. Does anyone know anything about this? please respond.
P.S. i dont meen to be a begger but, is the season of giving^_^

Sorry, I'm not here to give but I'd like to say that if Sonic Team or whoever takes care of the servers fixed FSOD completly that PSO would be the perfect game! And also, where did you find a Spread Needle?

Just having the item equipped won't save it from FSOD. It has to be equipped when the game autosaves, such as after leaving a telepipe.
So, keep your most precious weapon equipped when you take a pipe :3

FSOD is the worst i find it happens in twos or threes, sometimes i can go all day without FSOD but take a couple of days ago i log on immediate FSOD, retry = Immediate FSOD and again it happens after this, i give up and try an hour later it's fine for the rest of the day. Is it caused by a problem with the phone line or the servers? Is it a time-out or what?

I don't think anybody but SonicTeam knows EXACTLY why FSOD occurs.

I'm curious, have any broadbanders gotten FSOD? I assume at least some have, but I think it's probably more likely that FSOD is more common to 56kers.
So far so good for me (on BB), but I've also been pretty careful; avoiding rapid selections on lobby menus and such, which have caused me to get FSOD or BSOD on DC. Otherwise, nary a FSOD/BSOD or disconnect for me. How about other BB'ers?
And one of the most appealing things about the Xbox version IMO is the ability to patch the game, eliminating such things as FSOD or cheating. But that's a WHOLE other topic.

Exactly what Snap said, whatever u had equipped at the time it auto-saved last, gojng and coming down from TP, or leaving an area like Ruins 1 to Ruins 2, it will only save on what you had last equipped, in this case you were obviously equipping red handgun at the last auto-save....you equipped the needle after and when you froze, no save occured beforehand. A fact.

guys it's not the code FSOD it's the game freezeing from to much info to fast but sonic team did a sever upgrade last wensday so it shouldn't be to many game freezes and if u have BB and u got dc all the time it should have stoped.it did for alot of people

That's the DVD-ROM reader making that noise. Most likely a read error or something.

i have gotten FSOD since last Wednesday:( it SUCKS! lucily i havent lost anything really rare yet (oh thats not true, i FSOD'd with an ANGRY FIST just a few days ago:/) im on 56k btw
someone reminded me that you can save your items by disconnecting the phone cable from the modem (like we used to do with the DC). does anyone know if this works?

I am never able to stay online any longer than that and my journey's always end prematurely with a frozen screen and lost items. Soft reseting, quitting the game and disconnecting the line manually never solves the problem either. I'm told that a router will fix this problem though, so I'm waiting till Christmas to go online again. I lost my free month of play though. -_-

If it makes the beeping noise, then you can't just disconnect the phone line. That means that that GCN is completely frozen. You can't even reset it. I've gotten it once. -=/
