View Full Version : PSUJP/PSU-EX: Double Header updates for 4/12

Lyrise
Apr 10, 2007, 08:48 AM
Since there are 2 versions of PSUJP running, the real and the beta, I thought it'd be appropriate to cover both in one thread.

Let's start with the real one first.

1. Cherry Blossom Lobbies. Easter lobbies removed, and a new one added to signify the coming of Spring (ok, so I realize this should have been 3/21, but what does it matter?). These lobby effects will be on the colony and on Neudaiz.

2. 5 missions upgraded to S2 level. They are:
-Mad Creatures (Parum Flyer Base)
-Plains Overlord/DeRagan (Raffon Plains outpost)
-Raffon Relics/What sleeps in the ruins (Raffon Plains Outpost)
-Desert 1/Sealing Device Defense (Moatoob Flyer Base)
-Terrible Desert Beast/ Desert 2 (Moatoob desert outpost)

3. Monster readjustments. The following baddies are getting adjustments:

-Mizura
-YG-01Z BUG
-YG-01K BUGGE
-YG-01U BUGGES
-Goushin
-Bul Buna
-Gaozoran
-Bel Pannon

On a personal note, I hope that by adjustment, they mean getting NERFED.

4. Drop Table Adjustment. These monsters are getting their drop lists revised:

-Jishagara
-Bil de Bear
-Delseban
-Carriguine
-Golmoro

5. More items added. They fall under:

- New S Rank boards added (Take a guess where.)
-New clothes (NOT new cast parts)
-New SUV weapons (Well, not really new, but these are the attacker series and are far stronger than their buster counterparts; some of them inflict SE4)

6. Level caps up again! Max from 80 to 90.

7. Mission counter interface change (probably to reflect the expansion version)

Phew! That was just for the real version of PSU too, now for the expansion beta:

1. 3 New missions:

-A Familiar Forest(Clyez City space dock)
-Flowing Water Sanctuary (Neudaiz Temple; NOT the flyer base)
-White Holy Beast (Rising Aerial Shrine)

2. New clothes and parts. All your favorite PSO costumes are back!

3. New room ticket: Natural Mat

4. New weapons added:
-Holy Ray
-Rappy Device
-Sato

5. New room goods.

...and of course, this one will annoy Kesara to no end...

6. New Casino prizes added.

That about covers this week's coming updates, on BOTH versions. And to all importers who don't frequent the IRC channel, or haven't paid attention, this week's update is also scheduled 2 hours earlier than normal; ends at the same time.

See you all next time!

I touched on the Illuminus trial updates in the Q&A and Reaction threads earlier this morning. Glad to finally see an update for the current game, though--strange how the JP Xbox 360 site was updated with information about the cherry blossom lobbies a few days beforehand. Maybe they were pinning everything down... In addition, it appears Xbox 360 will have different drop table adjustments (http://xbox360.phantasystaruniverse.jp/news/wis/?mode=view&id=45) as well.

Also, does it explicitly say "strengthening"? I hope not, especially with what's listed there.

They say strengthening, but they aso use the term "readjustment". If you want to be symantically correct, one could also say "Negative strengthening".

Aside from seeing how high I could hit with one diga a few days back, I haven't used diga in weeks, even against bosses. It's been about nos techs and megid lately.

Plus, when I was a Wartecher, I was pretty much all out melee and I still had a blast spinning around the mizura to hit them in the back. More fun than going toe to toe with Jarbas, so http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif to you!

Well its not like we can't hit them, its just we have a difficult time hitting them. Though it seems for the force types out there, they have the easier time hitting them with diga and such.

Wow, Sega, nice job, strengthening all of the STRONGEST and most DANGEROUS monsters in the game. I think this will only turn more people further away from any missions that has these monsters. But why Gaozorans? Those are by far THE most dangerous monsters in that list, and in the game period.

The way they're doing it doesn't really seem very intrusive. They're adding in the PSO clothing in shops, and the caves boss is just different enough to give some variety. I'm rather skeptical about PSO forest (different dimension?), but I can live with it.

So far, you just seem like you're just annoying about all the PSO fanboys on the game.

Sorta. The JP 360 page lists more enemies than the ones being adjusted on JP PC/PS2. Of course, that could mean any number of things.

In addition to the ones listed in the original post, these are being adjusted as well on 360 (which may not necessarily be the case as well for US/EU PC/PS2):

Go Vahra
Armed Servant (Taguba)
Armed Servant (Ozuna)
Special Ops (Kahnone)
Special Ops (Solda)
Special Ops (Assault)
YG-01U BUGGES
Gaozoran
GSM-05B Bomalta

I SINCERELY hope Go Vahras are being slowed down. They're at me before I can even switch weapons.

Anyone without a deep hatred for bugs needs to try to kill one as a Technic-less class. Their evasion is obscene, and the HP count feels like it was tacked on to kick us in the nuts after being hit by a car (the car being their Evasion).

If this is the truth...

<3<3<3

Hmm. I know I posted this somewhere, before, but I actually LIKE the alternate dimension explanation for the Forest showing up. This is a Sci-Fi crazy stuff happening game, and I think it'd be cool. Someone else mentioned Dark Falz (Force) possibley coming this way through that... if this "Other dimension," thing is actually part of the new story, I'll be stoked.

Also, BEEs are easy (And like... SOMEONE above me said, especially Mizura) if you have different people knocking them up from their backs to keep them from shooting you, since it's not THAT hard to get their back. High HP and crap drops I agree, but definately not hard.

Yeah, I don't know why the female clothes/parts names are shortened either (they all lack the "ruu" at the end which = L in the Romanization more or less), but there they are, approximated mostly from the Japanese. No mention was made of RAmarl, FOmar, or FOnewm outfits--and LOL @ U if you're wondering where the HUcast and RAcaseal outfits are.

Can you see which ones they are, A2K? Is it the one I posted? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Ah, unfortunately, no. One, I'm not actually on the trial and I'm just forwarding the info from the Japanese update page, and two, they haven't actually been added just yet.

So far, you just seem like you're just annoying about all the PSO fanboys on the game.

Not sure how you figure that.

But I'll admit that PSO fanboys have been annoying me for the last several weeks. If they get all offended because I don't like something they're drooling over, great.

I like the PSO stuff, myself, because I like having more stuff in general, but I more than a little annoyed by the people saying Phantasy Star Universe "should be moar liek PSO lol". Does that make any sense?

Aww, okay. I figured maybe they had pictures of them, guess not.

Someone HAS to tell me so I have something to look forward to. The Acrotecher/Fortecher decision is pissing me off, I need a positive note for AoI. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Perfect sense. There are a few elements from PSO that I wouldn't mind seeing again (mostly level design), but I like that PSU is a different game and don't want to see it turned into PSO Episode 5.

Well that seals the deal. Come expansion, we're gonna have a new planet to explore, just like I said...

Ah, no. It's described as being in "an alternate dimension", and no clues as to exactly how you get there in the first place are mentioned. There's no mention (nor ever has been) of anything beyond Forest 1, either.

Alternate dimensons tend to have planets. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Besides, didn't the confinement system send the Seed to an alternate dimenson? Maybe the PSU peeps accidentally sent their problems to Ragol and now have to clean it up!

Is it possible...just possible that PSU Ep 1 took place around the same time Episode III took place? Meaning that the Ragolians had only just defeated the GERM? And that the two are closer than anyone ever though? I plan to hold this thought that we're going to Ragol until sega does something that says that's wrong.

Uhh, no. Right now Ragol is being treated exactly the same as the Hive is, mission wise its just an extension of the Colony

God, I honestly hope not. Items and clothes are one thing, but so blatantly and arbitrarily jamming PSO's storyline and Ragol into all of this? Ick. I don't think there's a way they could do that without it seeming horribly contrived, especially with the mention of alternate realities already. Either make it subtle or don't bother at all, please.

Regardless, the mission description remains ambiguous to the point where it makes me suspect this area in the final version will just be available during special events only, like the club (but hopefully open more often), and perhaps a bonus in story or extra mode after fulfilling certain conditions (similar to Green Hill Zone in Sonic Adventure 2).

scroll down the page a little bit to see the new clothes that the JP servers are getting... Their getting Braves Coat, Nobles Coat..etc.. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
Still no Formal Wear for males or females ( damn it )... no AMF suit pieces yet...

I *pray* it does *not* take 2 months to get new clothes again. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

The new clothes that the US servers are *finally* getting Friday April 13th are the ones that JP got on Feb 1st! *sigh*...
