I just finally got my PM to 80 yesterday, and decided to make it a GH441. So I've been trying it out in Grove C to level some bullets at the same time, and realized that my PM's non-elem shotgun bullets inflicts some strange pink, hearty status effect that's not in the list on Psupedia. At first I was guessing it might be a "charm" kind of SE, but I haven't noticed any change of behavior in the monster. Does anyone have any idea what that is?

hmm.. really weird. I wonder what that Status Effect actually does.

It causes the afflicted mob to target whoever caused the effect. In essence enemies now concentrate on your PM instead of you.

Is it an Ult. PA that we haven't gotten yet ? Or is this some kind of PM exclusive move.

Ult PA I do believe.

WOAH!!! Doesn't sound like a SE I want to have http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

I mean, and I quote, "It causes the afflicted mob to target whoever caused the effect. In essence enemies now concentrate on your PM instead of you."

WHY would you want THAT to happen o_O I guess I'm thinking from a perspective of ME using the SE on a monster....it's cool and all if the PM does it cuz then I can focus on the other stupid monsters attacking the PM http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif But I personally wouldn't want to have that SE myself to use.....it would be suicide for a Ft

I guess it's a second shotgun Ult.PA we're gonna get sometime later. Interesting to know though, I can use her as a tank. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Is there any official name for that SE? Charm, or lure perhaps?

NO, they should LOVE you, aren't they? why they still attack you? in many RPG game, monster will kill each other when they love player

i would definately use this as a protranser, lure them in for a trap, and let everyone else get some 100% hits from behind.

Edit: But yeah, I can definitely see the use of this. Like getting a Jarba to throw all its megids at you to focus on evading them safely while the rest of the team bring it down.

It wouldve been nice had this actually been a handgun Ult. PA, that way a high HP class could use it to an entire parties advantage.

Oh well, this way isnt bad either.

Think about how much of a bitch that will be to level up though...

That actually sounds AWESOME, as someone who likes playing "Tanks" in other games, having a 'Love Axe' or something would be an awesome way for me to defend my team.

Don't get me wrong, I saw the advantages for other Class types to use this Ultimate SE/Bullet or whatever it's gonna be BUT for a Ft it wouldn't be a good Idea if you ask me.....just my opinion.....

.......Unless I was the one chosen to dodge Megid Ballz http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif HAHA

It's an SE called "Charm". The second ult PA for shotguns inflicts it, which the 441 seems to use.

Honey_Bot

isn't this what happens when you use a PA frag? so perhaps...

Magician
Apr 17, 2007, 06:00 AM
"Charm" huh? Sounds like a PA that draws hate to the character that caused the SE and continues to do so no matter which "other" party member who gets the most recent hit it. If so then that would be a most helpful SE

A good way to make a diversion and let the others attack. I say we lets hope we get this soon http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif. Wait a sec... If WE can use it... so can the enemy... (whats that gonna do to us?).

I'm really hoping there will be some kind've armor that radiates this SE. I really see this as an opportunity to Tank hits for the team, I wish we had more info on this.

I like shotguns, and I like keeping the enemies away from my team. I'm gonna love this bullet. It'll be fun to distract as many enemies as I can without getting my ass kicked. With a shotgun, no less.

As others have commented, it's actually a very useful effect. For starters, it's part of what you need if you want to draw out a single mob at a time, so that you don't have to deal with several mobs at once that can kill you quickly in a group (the other part being a way to keep the other mobs from following you).

Beyond that, it's a common strategy in MMOs to have your high HP/Defense characters in the middle of the fray, drawing all the aggro from mobs, so that the healers are free to keep the AoE heals going, and the glass hammers can pound the shit out of the mobs without being attacked back. The basic design of the strategy is that you have a tank drawing the mobs' attention, your healers are spamming their heals on the tanks to keep them alive, and your heavy-hitters (ideally, glass hammers-- characters that have been tweaked for maximum damage per second without regard to HP or defense; not really an issue in PSU, though; in PSO terms, you may have had a RAcast tanking, a FOmarl or FOnewearl healing and a pair of HUcasts or HUcaseals hammering) dealing mass damage without having to worry about getting splattered.

It would make more sence for this SE to be a unique/specific status effect for the love inferno, love bow, sweet death...unless there is like a love shotgun or something.

essentially, it'd be the most useless status effect for soloing..

Not necessarily. This could make it possible to get just one mob out of a large group to follow you into a hallway (though I'm thinking you'd need it on a bow or rifle to pull that off). That way, you could handle a very difficult room with far greater ease; soloing S rank missions in your high 30's, even.

Plus, having it on your PM instead of you, your PM does nothing but tank for you. That's very useful.

Probably still better for parties, though.

I always find it funny when Nougami's partner machine inflicts the charm SE on an enemy and then gets herself pummeled. XD Don't ask for love SE if you can't handle it, I guess.

I could see this as being tremendously useful but it would make more sense to have it on an Axe or some kind of weapon that a Fortefighter could use. They're the closest thing to a tank that we have in this game. Not that I'm complaining, gunners can move around often enough to avoid getting hit and keep the mobs distracted but I hope it's not limited to just guns.

The shotgun is damn near a melee weapon as it is, given the range you have to use it at. Can a Figunner use it? A Figunner might make a decent tank, no?
