does anyone know if clothing has anything to do with your stats or is it just for fashon.

Just fashion my friend.

it has nothing to do with stats. It's just fashion.

not really. Looking cool while killing is very important.

Killing with style is just as important as being a functional killer. >_> Besides, you get bored looking at the same clothes day in and day out. It's nice to mix things up once in awhile.

Seeing how useless stats seem to be anyway (I can never see any stat increases when I level my PAs or get upgraded weapons), going from looking like a clown to looking like a knight seems like a much better use of money.

looks>stats in PSU. seriously this game isnt hard enough for stats to make huge difference.

Not only that, but I'm not even convinced stats play that much of a roll. When I upgraded from a 3* handgun to a 7*, my damage went from 100 to 120. Considering the huge ATP boost, I expected alot more.
Then there's the fact that lv50s and lv70s can party together without anyone noticing, or the fact that I don't know if someone is using a 7* or a 9*.

However, if someone looks hot, you can bet that I can tell.

I find I want to play the game more when my character is purty.

And I just got the clothes I really wanted, so she's really purty.

What are those little spheres next to clothes when you go to change? Some of my clothes had them, some didn't.

The online Phantasy Star games have always been about looks. It's why I carried around my Chainsawd instead of a more useful S-rank sword.

A waste of money? Why?

I believe those are up and down arrows, not spheres. They indicate incompatibility with certain other clothing items--for instance, if you're wearing legwear with a red down arrow, you can't also wear footwear with a red up arrow (essentially, this means you can't wear most boots with long pants; yes, this is stupid). Similarly, a top with a red down arrow and legwear with a red up arrow can't be worn simultaneously (this is generally just as stupid).

Huh...learn something new every day. Never even paid attention to those arrows or what they were supposed to mean.

Its funny how everyone equips weapons that do less damage/are useless just because its awesome using them.

Huh i thought that meant what color the clothes are, or are you talking about different spheres?

This game is all about character aesthetics and looking cool the way you want to look.

@OP: Stick around these boards more and you'll realize this quickly.

I change how my character look bi-weekly at the latest. Sometimes I even do it weekly. I own almost every article of clothing out there now so its not that expensive anymore. So i tend to only have to pay to change my hairstyle now. But I do it a lot just so my character can feel fresh and then it's like they are more like a real person changing their clothes

if you look good it can help motivate you to fight better, maybe?? A good player looks good and play good = awesomeness. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
