200k is a good amount, thats about 2-3 7*s, or 1-2 8*s (maybe even a 9*, if its a double saber or twin daggers)

I wouldn't, spamming gets old fast. Regardless of the reason, people selling things or trying to point out scammers, most spammers end up on some folks black lists. Even if you're trying to do a nice thing, seeing constant messages gets annoying.

Doing something at the GM event sounds good, maybe just throw up a message or 2. Although if it goes like the Valentines event, prepare for mass chaos. Fun, but I couldn't imagine trying to take down names in that mess.

While you can't technically hack, Microsoft has already admitted that some accounts were stolen when customer service gave out account info to people who weren't account holders.

I imagine you need at least the email connected to your Live account for this though, not just by posting a Gamertag online. Most likely this problem has already been taken care of as well, usually Microsoft takes care of things decently once they actually admit it.

Not sure if it actually effected PSU either, a some of the reports turned out to be false when people were claiming this (turned out to be family members, etc.)

This falls under identity theft which can basically be done on any sort of account if you have enough information. It could conceivable happen on any online game if they have stupid customer service representatives. I would be more concerned with my bank account though. Someone stealing your gamer tag isn't a huge concern.

If anyone is nervous about giving out this information, keep in mind that anyone you've ever played with had access to it.
