Halo fans are ruining the PSU experience.

Why are the majority of the Halo players on PSU so heartless and egotistical? Ok sure not all Halo fans are like this, but I'm just going by personal experiences and what some of my PSU buddies have experienced. Out of all the scammers in the game that I've encountered, most of them were hardcore play-everyday Halo fans. With Halo-esque gamer tags. The majority of them go by a whole different side of ethics. The very same type of players who boot you out of a shop for being a higher level or just for the sake of trolling. They seem to bring that Halo mentality along with them as they flock to this game. Go visit the psu beta and you will find a haven for the ones who will eventually switch to our side. Has anyone else here had bad experiences with these type of players?

Not yet. Though I partied with one guy who was complaining about not getting rare drops on a PA frag run. We just laughed at him and I told him a lie that he was "Ruining are Roleplaying".

Give them a few months playing PSU...maybe they will be brainwashed and start having the mentability (if this is even a word...lol) of PSU fans...haha.

It happens. I've played Halo and Halo 2, but there have to be a set of social standards to be followed in any game, even if those standards must be lowered in certain games and for certain age groups.

The reason for the Halo-esque gamertags is mainly because Halo 2 was the first game that made Xbox Live worth buying...so a lot of people bought a subscription just for Halo 2.

As for the attitude...I've actually only run into one person on PSU that I couldn't stand. As long as no one dies without a Scape Doll on a high ranked mission or something, everyone is pretty much fine.

Excuse me, but I'm a hardcore Halo player (but my first love was PSO) and I don't act like a jerk.

Although, granted, when I play Halo, the % of players that say "good game" is about 2%, and 80% are mouthy, loud, obnoxious and arrogant... but I always beat them anyway... =)

Really, I thought it was going to be FFXI or any other MMO fan that ruin the game (such as myself). Their (my) mentality is that there's only one way to do things, and if you don't do that you aren't worth being around. In that game, you're shunned for not having the best equipment, or even for being a certain job. These players value reward per second more than anything else, and will only play to maximize that. If anyone is slowing them down, they will be booted and replaced.

Man, I came from FFXI too and I really hated how high and mighty everyone acted when I played that game. It's actually what drove me away eventually. And I think the reason you don't see too many players from other games ruining the PSU experience is most of them are still playing those games. I tried to get 3 of my FFXI friends to move here but they wouldn't budge. ;/ MMORPGs like FFXI and WoW tend to have that effect on people.

Really? I never had any problems with the Halo 2 players when I was in PSOX. The ones that weer assholes stayed in the lobby and bitched at each other, while I joined a game and played with 3 fun non-dickhead people.

Though, I guess the PSU360 beta spread word about the game so the population of PSU360 is very high unlike the low population of PSOX... so a higher population would equal a higher population of asshats.

If by, "certain class" you mean anything that isn't WHM, BLM, WAR, NIN, (post LV 40) RDM, (pre LV 70) PLD?

I felt bad for Dragoons. I gave that one up at 53.

Regardless of whether it is in real life, in a chat forum, or maybe in some vidya game, but wherever I am I act 'heartless and egotistical' for the hopeful result of provoking people getting all pissed off or bent out of shape like this.
