I normally just take 3 CD's, throw them in my stereo, an play them all at once. When they are done, I put in 3 more http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I'm a rock/metalhead, so anything in that fashion is for me.

I have the PSU soundtrack playing normally most of the time. After about 2 or 3 runs of the same mission, though, I set the Xbox Guide to "shuffle" and stream random tracks from my PC to my Xbox 360. I skip over tracks I don't feel like listening to using my remote. It works out quite well. I don't really have any premade PSU playlists set up.

Usually I stick to the in-game music, but every once in awhile, I'll stream songs like Ice Queen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGszdHVb2UY) and Pure Heart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAIThK3-prs). I love me some foreign music. I used to have a crush on Lee Ji-Sun from Koyote. She's beautiful and can sing in live performances just as good as she does in a studio.

I don't know, I personally think the PSU sound track fits the game perfect and I love it. I just wish we at least had some stages with the SEED infection songs. Mostly Ice Contamination.

Well, I usually keep to the PSU music, but if I feel like it, I listen to some heavy metal or j rock or whatever.

PSU music usually, but sometimes I play rock/metal instead (usually in areas like Endrum where I hate the music).

DragonForce, Iron Maiden, Lacuna Coil, Rammstein, Avenged Sevenfold, etc, etc.

The in-game music is mostly fine, though I'll usually replace the BGM in some areas with tracks from PSO Episode 4. Makes Moatoob and HIVE a lot more tolerable.

i play with my tv muted. no matter game i play be it PSU or halo i dont really care to hear the sound. it distracts me i guess. occaisionally i listen to music on my psp. right now i listen to....

Oh, I play all kind of things. Lately I've been listening to alot Dark Tranquillity while playing PSU though. A bit Thyrfing, Muse and Within Temptation as well. Oh, and I must not forget Soilwork, Children of Bodom, In Flames and Finntroll. Can't get tired of those. And this is just what I've been listening to lately. I listen to way too much music to list it all.

And yeah, I wub Metal.

I usually listen to some kind of hard rock/metal, but if I'm in kind of a depressed mood I switch over to Relient K or Switchfoot. Family Force 5 (http://www.purevolume.com/familyforce5) is great for parties. ;D

Still, no soundtrack can make up for the feel of the changing PSO music.

The Dreamcast and Gamecube didn't support custom soundtracks or Winamp. Otherwise, this same topic would have come up back then too.

More often than not, I keep the PSU music on. But if I DO switch it, I just have Winamp shuffling through various Ys tracks.

Because Ys has awesome music, and fits PSU well.

I listen to Megaman soundtracks, DragonForce, Ikaruga soundtracks, also the game music. All depends on my mood. Sometimes I just want my own music to listen to.

The only one that truly comes to mind is for a boss fight:
Operation Ground and Pound by Dragonforce.
However, this idea meets its downfall when the song is 7:44 long and the typical bossfight is anywhere from 0:11 - 4:03 long. LoL

Edit: Ukishima (Neudaiz #9)is an exception.
Sadly the rest pales in comparison to that of PSO's.
