Jesus guys... Katanas are nice and all, but there's more swords just as equally worthy of attention. No offence, but it makes you sound rather wapaneeseish. How about claymores, rapiers, bastards, scimitars, ect? Or, how about start giving us weapons that aren't completely enveloped by goofy looking neon lights? I know the whole "photon" angle is being pushed.. but christ.. that's part of the reason why all the weapons basically look the same.

How about just some decent weapons with excellent texturing that make them look both unique and cool - and if you have to put photons on the weapon, for christs sake make it subtle. The thin glint of light running along the blades edge, or in the swing motion tracers... on guns, make the bullets smaller and have a greater velocity so it actually looks like you're firing a firearm (with the same photon color tracer concept), ect.

And by the way... Naunchucks would kick ass in PSU.

Oh... and for gods sake, if they're going to let us equip offhand materials - bring back SHEILDS that boost DFP and reduce damage against physical attacks when activated. Same concept as weapons too - make physical actual sheilds, but give them a thin colored outline or a semi-transperant colored gloss, or a colored animation - whatever. But have it so that if you have the same element of sheild as the spell being cast at you, it can help reduce damage against that type of spell.

Sheilds would be an awesome asset for Forces who (for right now) don't have much of a use for their offhand when equipping wands.

In PSO, there were a few special "saber" type weapons that behaved slightly different by having a different combo, all of which were shaped and named like katanas (Sange, Yasha, Kamui, Agito, Orotiagito etc).

They were not only powerful, but looked cool at the same time, thus why people want them back. (so do I)

No.. Katana's on PSO had the exact same animation as Sabers. It wasn't until Ep II for the NGC and Xbox came out that they got their own specialized "Katana" class.

Weapon classes were generally determined by their attack animation.

How about less katanas and more western styled swords? Considering that great swords are modeled after a two handed knight sword, how about making a sword that looks like a knight sword?

Well, actually, for the big swords, they should be Western Claymores, and I would want less Eastern swords for that weapon type and more Claymores and Excaliburs and such, although Zanbatous may be nice too, but the Twin Sabers are supposed to be Katanas, we need more Musashis, Yamatos, Asukas, and Sange/Yashas for that weapon type. And the Kan Yu is not a katana, its a Chinese sword.

Yah cuz thats an amazing idea, get rid of the one thing that keeps this from looking like every other rpg in the world.

Personally, I think it looks silly - and that if they want to look different from other RPG's through design - they could do so without all the glowy stuff if they tried.

I just think it makes all of the weapons look highly, increadibly, and painfully, similar. Hopefully AoI will fix this to a digree and introduce more unique weapons that look like more than just different colored glow sticks.

What I mean is that I don't really like having to change weapons to cast technics (I liked having the action pallete + shortcut window in PSO) and I don't like that Wartechers and (I think) Acrotechers can only have two technics available at a time because they can't equip rods.

looking back at the old drop patterns of items when the game came out and now, the drops have changed immensely. back in the day, a par ebon on a rank was nearly as rare as a par walna on s rank... but now even on a they drop alot. so my theory is that 10 star boards will be as rare as the 8 stars are now one day. and the 12 stars will be the ones we hunt the most. =p
