I was in a lobby yesterday, a level 100 HUnewearl, thinking about whether or not I should try Ultimate Heat Sword or V-Hard Seabed.
Out of no where a level 125 FOmar asks me whether or not I'm REDRIA, which I am. After I confirm what he suspected, he asks me if I can do him a service, and that he'll reward me with either a 11 or 12 star rare.
Of course, immediately, I think "duped items," and say I'm not interested. Still, he persists. Asking that I at least take a look at the stuff he offers - I still decline. Then he mentions how he's looking for an item, that only REDRIA is known to find it, and it's found in the Center Conrol Area, or as he called it, the bridge before the boss.
So, I say, "Oh... SOUL BANISHER," and wonder why he wants one. Turns out that it's the best weapon a FOmar can equip - I was also VERY disappointed to find out that the RED PARTISAN is the best weapon of its type.
The guy knew his stuff. He even tried the KIREEK quest on Ultimate hoping that it'll net him the weapon, which it didn't. The guy was a treasure hunter - as in actually finding, and not trading - and I respected that. But, still... I knew I was out of my league going into the Islands at my level. And I definetely did not feel like going through the temple and ship to get to the Island.
I think about it for a while, and then say to him that if he can get me an untekked 1975 AGITO (he's a PINKAL) I'll unlock the Island offline; he agrees.
I spend offline leveling up in Episode I and then move on to Episode II. It was hell. I got killed a few times by Ob Lilies and found out that standing in one place is no longer safe against the Indi Belra. On the bright side, I did encouter a couple of Mil Lilies and got a red box off of one - Haven't tekked it yet, but I'm assuming it's a WINDMILL.
Barba Ray took forever to kill, and the Dragon managed to kill me once - I really need a Cure/Freeze.
Having completed the two VR stages, I go back online, and tell him that the Island is unlocked. However, since he was only interested in the Central Area, I needed to beat the Island. My response when I realized that was "....." I was around level 104 at this time - I didn't plan on doing the Island offline until I was around level 130 or so. I go on saying nothing but "....."
He then offers to lend me some items in order to help me. God/Battle, CHAIN SAWD, etc. I was only interested in stuff that can raise my DFP. So, he lends me a GUARD WAVE and I go offline.
My ATA sucks, my HP sucks, my DFP sucks, and my EDK sucks - For those who aren't aware, Zol Gibbon split out Megid (lower level than Ob Lily) in Ultimate mode. I get my DELSABER SHIELD out and go to the Island.
Things were moving along until I hit the mountain stage. Here, I found out first hand why having Cure/Shock is a good thing. Since the DELSABER SHIELD did nothing to protect me from zonde, I ended up getting shocked none stop. I end up sacrificing a God/Arm for the Cure/Shock unit.
The Jungle mini-boss kills me twice - only to have my Mag revive me twice. But, to my shock, those were the only times I died. Central Control was insane with all the Sinows using Rafoie. I was literally swing blindly at the air, hoping I'll hit something.
It's really overrated, but the DEMOLITION COMET was my bread & butter throughout this entire journey - That and the L&K14 COMBAT.
Today I'm a level 109 HUnewearl, now with my own GUARD WAVE which I found during the level up spree. I still say I'm nothing but a wate of TP for Reverser in the Central Area... and, I feel somewhat ashamed that I'll be hiding behind a FOmar... But, hey, it's for the real AGITO. Something that I really did not feel like sending out my FOnewearl to hunt down for me.
