On the 360 we're having a Demo event weekend. Just play the Demo for a bit on Saturday and Sunday, and a couple maintenance periods later you should find Amy in your Common Box.

On PS2/PC you can't get them as of know.

Single biggest downfall to the great gaming franchise that was Sonic the Hedgehog. Im not going to say that Shadows character and backstory werent amazing in SoA2, but when they killed him off at the end of that game they did the right thing. He was good for that game, but they ended his story, there was no more reason to steal the limelight form Sonic.

Then they give him his own game, some street cred, a drivers license, and a weapons permit and VOILA! Youve officially fucked a franchise! Congratulations!

All you fanboys with your shadow/silver/random-secondary-character-with-stupid-plot-history love are whats basically ruining my childhood. Youre giving Sonic Team the reason to continue making shitty games that will never live up to the originals or there earlier 3D counterparts.

If SEGA had been smart, they wouldnt have split up Sonic Team in 1999, and they wouldve just left the series at Sonic Adventure 2. That really was the last good Sonic game, and the only way that they could redeem the series now is to bring the focus back on sonic (which thankfully seems to be the case with the secret rings, and Sonic Rush.)


Slightly offtopic, but I will take an Amy statue (who at least is a character from the series past) over Shadow or Silver ANY day.

Yea, I was referring to the Metal Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. And Robotnik as well. I think the other "metal" sonic is Mecha Sonic which is altogether different. Not sure though.

Personal favorite character in the entire Sonic Universe has to be Nate. Hes not even an animal, hes just old, and awesome. Although Prince Acorn wasnt bad near the beginning.

The comic book series was good until around issue 75. Then the art started sucking and the writers were too busy trying to make it fit the games. But 40-75 were absolute gold.

As much as I dislike most of the newer characters, I dont really despise Big or E-102. Sonic Adventure was an experiment in gameplay. That said, I didnt think that his part of Sonic Adventure was too enjoyable, but I dont hold it against Sonic Team for at least trying. The rest of the game was good, so one small blunder in it doesnt hurt me to much.

Sonic Underground was bleh, but AoStH was amazing. The quintessential 90's cartoon, and proof that every once in a wile America can take a Japanese character and do wonders with it.

I spent my adventure field time levitating large numbers of barrels/apples and jumping across rooftops, at least when you fall off a cliff you don't lose a life like in SA1.

It's not about the bringing back old things or anything like that with Sonic the Hedgehog for X360 for me.. It was the load times that ruined the entire experience for me and the game itself was riddled with tiny glitches that could have easily been fixed. I'm glad I rented this from Gamefly, because if I would have bought it, it would have been a good waste of money. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the game, so I might rent it again for the sake of knowing the story and that's about it.

SA2B is arguably the last GREAT sonic game, just look at critics ratings for the games now and then.

And last time I checked, a Sonic game COULDNT physically be to fast paced. His name is Sonic, as in Sonic Boom, as in the niose made by breaking the sound barrier, as in 1497 miles a second.

Sonic and shadows stages didnt use the homing attack enough for me to hate it, and the ring dashing in that was such an improvement over SA it wasnt even funny. They were fast and huge, and thats what made them awesome.

Knuckles/Rouges stages were excellent as well, take meteor herd. Even by todays standards those stages are BIG, but there never overwhelmingly so, the radar did a good job of keeping that in check. Your always exploring and its not hard to go from one place to another.

Tails/Eggman stages were great as well. Not as good as Gamma's in SA, but still nice. And the later stages that you actually have to be careful where you aim are even better.

One thing I really digged about Sonic Adventure 2 was that your best times and scores are achieved by hitting certain spots, timing specific jumps and homing attacks so that you Zoom through the level much faster and miss a lot of slower sections.

Sonic Heroes was similar in fashion, but involved a (use correct formation at the right time) kind of mechanic. It was always easy to finish, tougher to do so and get top ranking in each level.

I actually thought the hard mode missions were easy. The only challenges I ever had troube with were the tmed ones.

And yes, the chao (raising them at least) were awesome. Whoever decided to take that out of the newer gamees is doing a great disservice to the franchise.
