View Full Version : "luck" smiled upon me (finally)

Small self pat on back: In my never ending quest to get a +10, 3* wand, I took a 3 luck day, and turned four Baton +8 into 4 Baton +9 (that's right, all 4 made it). Sadly that was the end of my C +10 supply, and I didn't feel like spending another 50K in grinders to try and get another set of +10's

You have no permission to repost in your own topic until you make those +10.

+9 is no fun.

it does rankle a little, but with four wands at +9, all I need is one suite of +10 grinders and one of them will make it

should've used your 3* luck to find something instead of making lame ass wands lol

For a cast, those "lame ass wands" are crucial since we're stuck with low level wands for a long time.

hate to ruin your day but ... I found a 3* wand from moatoob so I grinded it up to +10 using C+5 grinders lol. I survived like 4 50/50 chance. I used it until I was about level 55 and then I bought a majimra. It's tech was actually impressive for a C wand, around 410 or something like that. But I'v borrowed it to my friend who started a force http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Aw, you should have went for the gold and tried for +10! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif When female CAST had 3* luck yesterday, I took 10 Falgohohs and some grinders, and turned 3 of them into +10. I never got any grind past +7 before that, so it was amazing.

3* luck also got my boyfriend the Har/Quick I promised to get him, so the next time you get it, I suggest some farming too! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

man, I can never make +10 grinders. how do you do it? once I get a few of those I'll try to make a cast a +10 wand...

There's no fun in grinding if you don't break your +8 and +9's when going for +10.....so many W'Gacros' for me who never made it past the +9 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Luck doesn't affect boss boxes, or the rarity of items. It makes items drop more often...so you could just end up with 20 Kerseline instead of the usual (0/1/2* luck day) 15.

Don't bother! I got a 30% fire Soda Accas to +9 last night and smoked it on the last grind... max luck, b+10 and everything.

I coulda been a contender. I coulda been a somebody.

You might as well pause and stop at those 4 +9's anyways and enjoy them while they last.
Many of us have broken our+9's using +10 grinders.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
At least this way, you can say to yourself that you've gotten their usage out of them before they break.

I'm a cast and if I heal anyone ever, I do it as a joke. In parties I shudder when someone non-human or newman heals me. I'd much rather any cast GT keep shooting instead of wasting their time on a support job that my items can do much better (and faster). I got a better idea, instead of spending all your efforts on grinding 3* wands to make yourself feel all elite and crap, why don't you wait till AoI when GT's get a tp buff and the you can provide good, actual support with real, higher level wands. Plus, you're gonna be mad you wasted all your lucky days on those lame ass wands anyway by that point.

Syanaide

No, you know what, I've got a better idea. According to you, all GT's might as well be Fighgunners. I mean hell, why bother using half of the abilities our class was designed for when ITEMS can do it better! We should just switch to FG's since they too have skills with twinnies and crossbows, who needs techs!

DemonCloak
May 4, 2007, 01:58 PM
Yeah, you're right, all Cast GT's should be Fighgunners or Fortegunners really. Not only that, casts have no tp as it is, they are not for teching classes, it's simply bad. I know people will tell me that "all classes are playable" and yes, they are, but when my missions take 20 minutes more than usual, it's usually because there are mismatched class/races in my party.

GT is a broken class. The reason why items are better than GT techs is because the class was designed poorly, and that's why its techs and tp are getting a major buffed in AoI. I don't understand why people are wasting their rare 3* luck days making wands when they could be finding crazy units or weapons. Once AoI is here, I don't wanna be offered those stupid ass wands in trades (as opposed to the current trend of offering me / concentrates).

Luck doesn't affect boss box drops, just personal luck. >_>

to the haters of Cast GTs. You are forgetting something. GTs are the only ones that get S rank crossbows, twins, and mechguns. That is why I made my Cast a GT.

The resta and buffs are just a bonus, and do help when soloing.

Back to why I'm grinding a 3* wand, and loving it. All told I've spent 60K making and grinding these wands. At +9 they are better, by far, than unground 5* wands I am not even close to equiping yet. (at level 54, GT6). 700+ PP, which means more restas, more buffs, more debuffs. And cheap recharges

When I reach 169 TP, I will grind +5 GRMs, as they have the perfecet balance between PP/TP in the +5/+6 range

I don't see any S ranks of those things, and I'm doubting we will see them in stores npc shops ever, until AoI(please prove me wrong Sega, please please prove me wrong!!!). Additionally, I'm not a Cast GT hater, I just hate any cast who tells me they're switching over for support...it's virtually non-existant. My friend is a Newman FT who groans every time a cast bothers to heal or buff. If you're switching over there for those weapons though, I applaud you, those are some good thoughtful reasons, but as I said earlier, I'd personally rather any cast GT healing me to just keep on pumping out the damage instead. Thanks for the consideration, but no thanks, I can heal myself *uses trimate*.

Heh. well, I can say it's nice to be able to reverser yourself/others, and when buffs run out mid battle, I'll often redo then. you'd be surprised at how much of a difference deband and zodial (for evade) can make when facing difficult enemies. Deband stop me from being 1 hit killed by a stompy goldova that criticaled me.

And the rest of the part does not seem to mind a quick resta when the fT is buffing. It only cost, what...30TP? I heal for over 300 which isn't great, but isn't noting either. When it hits 500 I'm SURE, there are plenty of folks who will consume less dimates.

Well, if you can make it work and enjoy it, I really can't argue with you there. If you're on Xbox 360, I guess I can understand since the self/backup support helps to save you money by saving on items. On pc/ps2, any strategy that is more for saving money is more for people who can't get their hands on the haxeta (begging is usually enough to make 2mil, so if you can't get any, it's probably your fault).

Normally, what happened for me, is that in a game Forces usually get fed up, or can't be bothered with keeping constant buffs on a party. That's not for me to argue, and while I happily will stop for buffs, I am often torn sometimes trying to cover support for everybody, when people start to get away from each other. Still, that often would leave me unbuffed, in the middle of things. For a GT, a little buff goes a long way for our survival rate, hit rate, etc. so it's good to have that option to keep yourself covered. Saves on both items and makes all aspects of your job work better for as long as possible. We do have some mobile weapons, but we're also very very vulnerable people without a little buff aid.

What's with the 3* +10 wand hate?
AoI made synthesis harder to get to +10 no? Less chances to increase but with no breakage.
But these are 3* wands and are easily replacable. If that means it's easier to get to +10 now as long as I have the supply of grinders, I'd rather go for it now, than wait for AoI to keep watching my wand reset to 0 all the time.

Makes sense to me. I tend to only care about 1 bigger wand, while the rest can be lower level. The grinded lower wands tend to have the Buffs/Debuffs on them, while the higher wand is my Resta wand, basically. Whereever TP is ignored, you might as well get the highest PP you can get from a cheap wand. One that's cheap to recharge. Still, being in an environment where Meseta is harder to come by, really makes a difference in priorities.
