what do you thinks PSU lack in a certain environment and needed to add more?

i feel that PSU lack a heavy raining area. They needed to add more area that has rain and dark sky. Most of the enviroments on PSU seem kinda boring and mediocre.

The rain, funny enough, shows up in one of the Onmagohg Boss Battles. A crazy flying winged beast. Hmm. Kind of reminds me of Episode II, in a way.

But since this game does have a bit of a Star Wars influence. Why not an actual Cloud City, of some kind. One in which the lands below are brutal and with mean creatures, but the lobbies are far above the actual battlegrounds. In the Cloud City lobbies, the exits are like the Space ports. They would suggest some kind of port of transportation to get to the places there.

An aquatic area, a futuristic mechanical area, and a spiffy area (last level of final fantasy spiffy).

All great places for photos.

PSU is somewhat lacking in areas that aren't grid like dungeons.

A weather effect, & night & day times. It'll be sweet to see Neudaiz at night with japanese lanterns out & a huge moon behind Mt. Ohtoku. Also, to see Moatoob having sandstorms while you're fighting enemies.

Don't really pay attention to the environnement...=/
But i guess some rain on parum (possibley on moatoob) would be nice all we ever see is the bright sun when we are outdoors except on neudaiz (where there is a few clouded areas)...i wouldn't be against the fact if the enemys left some blood on the floor either...

More lazer barriers/switches, puzzles. NOT x amount of ppl needed to open something. (or at least mix it up that the switches are FAR apart in other rooms for simaltaneous pressure plates. Then teleport together in the end. Kinda like mini solo'n at certain points.) Or more like only ONE switch is correct, or you get a trap.
Turning lazer barriers on in correct sequence to advance.
Shoot/hit the right switch for lights or fight in darkness, etc. (more elaborate than Bruce's Dungeon).
Falling objects (non monster related), collapsible bridges/floors...

More open rooms with upper tier walkways/ledge, etc. We have PLENTY of large open spaces, but no depth to them! AoI has a few of these I hear....

I wanna fight/think about the environment AS WELL as dealing with the monsters. And/or use the environment to our advantage.

We really need more areas. >.<
- Mountains.
- An underwater area where you can acutally see the water around you. Not a building that your told is underwater.
- Frozen moutain. Thank you AoI.
- Volcano! Seriously.
- Faron Waterfall looking area.
- We need some darker areas too. Dead forests, graveyards, etc.

They should make it so theres a mission right after the Faron Waterfalls on a pier and then a lobby on the shore of lake Denes, because its cool "escorting" my girl friends (not she-males) to the waterfalls so they can see how cool the lake looks and thenactually go to a lobby by the water so it would be like a beach in a way.

There's a beach lobby in AoI. It's pretty nice looking, but I wanted a full mission. XD

Gi Gue ftw!

I remember reading somewhere that there WAS going to be weather changing, and that depending on the weather, was what kind of enemies appeared. But it was a long time ago and ST of course was trying to make this game seem way more better than it is...

Kinda like the Day/Night cycle in Zelda games. Different enemies in the fields during the day and during the night.

One of the things I like about levels like "Lab Recovery" is that beyond the immeadiately playable area is the impression of a massive subterranean cavern.

What would be cool was if there were a few more levels where the space was made to seem cavernous & echo-ing, which would be a good opportunity for a heavy industrial kind of environment. Lots of steam & machinery etc, the steam could even offer interesting trap/puzzle sections, perhaps...

Other than that I wouldn't mind something super high-tech & flashy, for instance a level that was stretched out over the aerial causways & roof tops of Parum. I immagine a lot of nice cloud/sky effects, with the suggestion of great height as players fight through buildings (possibly damaged by attack), interspersed with fraught crossings between buildings along pedestrian walkways.

I want more enclosed areas and standing water.

Who knows. They might suprise us once again. In PSO, we had 4 main environments, but when they gave us (what is technically the 2nd expansion) Episode 2, they really went to town with some great environments.

Heck, even Temple kind of blows me away at times. Mainly because it was an imaginative mix of Science-fiction and Aztec/Egyptian Temple Ruins.

Of note were the cool rooms with the holographic walls that changed between different environmental looks and rotation, open hallways inbetween to see other rooms, and then some rooms with the open temple ruins look (ala. Tomb Raider).

Maybe we'll be surprised with the environmental stuff they do for AOI. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to it.

There is no type of environmental SE's, no water sound effects, no trees moving se's, and so on. Even the shadows suck, it's just one big circle wtf? It feels like im playing a before version of PSO. We just gotta give it time, everyone here on PSO-W could make PSU way more better (other than the dull unimaginative players) if they had control, but none of us do, so w/e.

I like most of the enviroments.

Like the Grove of Fanactics stage, The Neudaiz islands, Mizuraki preserve, Raffron fields, and Parum Linear line(come on everyone has to love that song and stage http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif ).

Though I do believe there are one or two missions that need a wee bit more originality such as Fight for Food. It starts off different but then looks like Unsafe Passage a little.

I think there's some serious potential. Who knows, maybe they'll add more to the expansion than we think. Just a hope...

I like the stages we have now, but I do agree we could use some darker more foreboding areas. Personally I would like a tower style area, where you can look over the railing and see how far up you've gotten.

Might as well throw in my two cents then..

First off, the game world is, or at least has potential to be, huge with alot of different areas. This pleases me.

However, when doing missions you'll rarely pay attention to the enviroment. Even though the areas aren't ugly and works just fine, you never see anything special either. I haven't seen a single unique or memorable structure/terrain/whatever during a mission. This does not please me.

Basically, the missions would do well with a little more detail. This is especially obvious in for example the Neudaiz forest missions. Block after block with almost identical green areas. I can buy that the basic theme and enviroment is the same but please, look at all these awesome lobbies! They should seriosly ponder throwing in a waterfall, a thick forest, more rain or whatever during certain missions, making them more memorable. We saw a fair bit of this in PSO. The waterfall in caves and the huge hole that can be found in the ruins comes to mind.

So, thumbs down for the mapdesign during missions, but loads of thumbs up for the awesome lobbies.

Maybe if FFF has a bit of flickering lights and random crap falling from the ceiling, small fires and sparks or something. In general I'd like to see MORE maps like Grove,Trains, etc. I think more combo maps like CB would be nice. (Just as long as I don't run it 30 times in a row I think I'll be fine.)

I'd like to see more weather outdoors. I mean everything is so stale outside. Mizu defense has fall ( I dig the colors),which I rather like, but the mission is stale. I recall someone saying Absolute Zero snow related. I'm looking forward to that. If it ever comes out anyway.

Something as simple as puddles of water on the ground would be nice. I'd like to see Parum at night. Hell, Neudaiz at night with lanterns would be really nice.

I demand a firework show right before server closes every Thursday.
That's right. Fireworks.

I want a mission over water. I want it huge, with these bridges you must cross. You have to split the team up to different locations to activate the bridges. Be a nice bit of teamwork and some nice scenery and something to break up the hack 'n slash 'nuke parts. Maybe some switches RA's have to shoot,FO's have to heal,HU's have to strike. I just want to have a something different.

More interactive environments in general would be nice.

A lot of areas in PSU seem to be just re-arrangements of previous areas. Sometimes with different lighting (dusk, night, noon, ect) or rare weather effects. What I'd like to see is more diversity. We're supposed to be exploring planets here... lets see a bit more swamps, jungles, beaches, forests, mountains, artic wastes, or even cities (a ground-level Mellvore would be nice). And don't make them rehashes of older areas... make them with their own unique landmarks, topographies, and scenery.

Everyone here pretty much read my mind.

Well, this is kind of pertaining to the topic: What I would kill to see, is to have the areas more open, or perhaps best to say I'd like an over world of some sort.

Instead of being forced to take the G flyer to a mission I'd like the OPTION to run out of the city by my own means and explore the wilderness of the worlds, with sparse encounters of enemies to fight of course. This also would easily allow many of those vehicles to come into to play from offline. That right there would make the environments noticeable to me, as of now it hardly feels like your in one since your only allowed to explore a small piece of it. I feel as though I'm being lead on a tour rather than exploring. This easily would open up variety for quests... providing those will ever happen.

Each block needs to look visually different than the last one ala PSO. I can't count how many times I have forgotten which block I was on because they all look the same.

I like how there are markedly different environments on the same planet (Forrested Islands and Grove of Fanatics). The thing I don't like is the model recycling. Basically just how ST was like "hey theres 15 bosses!". When in reality theres only a few bosses but they are dressed up in different textures and put in different missions.

I'd like more technical mechanical areas with some cool light streams that flow down the hallway. I'd like some light flickering areas too where it goes dark randomly.

Snow Areas are needed badly
Waterfall Area in Parum needed
Elevator Type Area maybe going UP this time
Oasis Level Needed

I always wanted a bridge area on Parum that would connect some islands together, so you'd just island hop across and see the great view of the ocean, especially when a random storm passes by.
