ok. Now let me explain. There have been a total of 6 of those ipod earphones in my family. I have broke every freakin one of them, and i boke 2 non apple ones. Why? No freakin idea. 1 i do understand because i accidently slammed one of them into the wall. But the others for some reason seem like they are fizzing (not the right word...)
No idea why. I play them, then thy fizz in one of the ears. Pissed me off. I treat them well, i dont throw them around (much http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif) But it seems like they have a gravitational pull towads the ground. i set them on the counter, and like 3 minutes later BAM they fall. Anyone know what i can do to "fix" them? Or will i have to buy a new pair :/
God i hate earphones

If they're actual iPod ear bud things, you can write to Apple and say they broke from normal wear and tear, and they'll send you new ones. My friend did it just to get an extra pair, haha. You don't need any proof or anything, just a letter saying yours broke and you need some new ones.

As for the others... maybe you've got a voodoo curse on you?

I personally haate the earbuds that came with my Ipod. They broke after like a week, and after trying various different types of earbud style headphones, settled on a fairly cheap (like 10ish bucks or so at a WalMart) pair of ear-plug style headphones--similar to the buds except that they have a form fitting end on them that secures them inside your ears. They work great, especially at blocking out background noise. I've been pretty hard on them, I'd suggest something like those.

Go with Sony ear/head phones.

But do not get those "sleeve" kind that fit around your ear, cause your ears will start hurting after awhile. The reason I suggest buying a Sony brand is because they will take a tremendous about of beating before they start actiing up. And I mean A TREMEMDOUS(can't spell it). Thes ones I had before I finally replaced them, lasted me about 2 years.

Agreed based on personal experience. I've had my Sony earbuds for at least five years, and so far as I can tell, they work just fine. Paint's coming off a bit, though.

I didn't know you could break earbuds. o; I mean, these things seem pretty solid.

Well, like i said: When i would put the earbuds down, they would fall of and hit the chair, edge of table, or ground with significant impact :/
Most of them (like my current) become mildly fuzzy. But a few either dont play sound out of one earbud, or the balance between the sound in each earbud is so big, i would go crazy (one plays loud, the other barely plays)

HAH!

Apple sells their earphones (defaults that come with ipod) for $39 (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=149738B5&nplm=MA662G/A)
I think I read somewhere they had some magnesium or some special metal that enhances sound quality.

If you're looking for a casual pair of headphones, I'd highly recommend Sony's MDR-LG2P. You see them everywhere, but for good reason. they're comfortable, clamp your cranium, and have awesome bass.
Clicky (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=MDRG42LP)

But if you're an audiophile, look for something from Sennehiser. I'm currently using a pair of sport headphones (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite/productdetail.asp?transid=500635). I was just curious what the twisty system was. look closely, there's a second knub to lodge in the upper lobe of your ear to keep it snug in place.

If you're going for high quality and have money to spend though, I'd recommend V-Moda's Vibe (http://www.v-moda.com/collection/modaphones/vibe.aspx)
Fancy graphics and advertising aside, those are some awesome 'phones.

Cheap alternative that has a buncha colors, looks nice, doesn't have a wonky tie up system, has plenty of slack, doesn't hurt to put in or take out with an irregular size like some have:

JVC $10 Bestbuy link (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7478883&st=JVC+earbuds&lp=6&type=product&cp=1&id=1125466441986)

I got those and they match the blue light on my Sansa e 250 series player but with the white cord look more like iPOD branded stuff, which I didn't buy for that reason though.

For the comp I got these headphones, not earbuds:
$20 or so. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=4503923&st=studio+monitor+headphones+sony&type=product&id=1051806135345) Practically indestructable, long cord, adjustable.

Bought my brother some Panasonic surround sound earbuds for only $20 on his birthday last year. Probably broke 'em by now as he goes through earbuds quickly with his iPOD. Had a sticker for like a best in show CES thing on it so it was probably pretty good.

I've never had any trouble with my iPod earphones, and i've had a shuffle, 2nd gen shuffle and a nano. A friend messed his up though cause he wore them out in the rain one night, that's about it.

80's Boombox over the shoulder. Problem solved. Plus, you'd look ultra sweet. Plasma-sweet even.
