Just made a similar topic. :/
We aren't the only ones, I'll assure you that. So you're only using the Vista firewall? Are you running another anti-virus? Because I thought it may be a Norton thing, but maybe not.
Other users, particularly of the official boards have the same problem.
Edit: You can play offline with no problems? I can't get PSU to boot correctly at all. @_@

And I'm not running any other software... can you like me with other treads? thanks!

In short, Gamegard is being blocked. Check see if any of your firewall/antivirus program is blocking PSU.

is there any other common identifier that GameGuard goes under for antiv/firewalls? I'm running no 3rd party stuff, and my windows firewall does not have "Game Guard" listed...

fyi, english translation of error above:
GameGuard initialization error. Please try again after restarting, or end any programs that may be causing a conflict, and try again.
Same as RegulusHikari's post.

I just recently sent Sega a tech support query, but I doubt I'll get anything worthwhile in response.
I've had no problems with PSU running since launch. Even when I switched to Vista nothing went wrong. However, since the update on 5/11, when a GameGuard patch was released, there have been players, myself included, who have received this error for no apparent reason. We have collectively been able to determine that it is not a problem with Vista or any anti-virus program in particular, just that it seems to be effecting users at random.
I would very much appreciate a non-automated response and a quick solution to this problem. If not, you may just be losing another valued customer.
Thank you.

I sent an e-mail to tech support yesterday as well, i got a reply back but as you stated it was some useless automated solutions that I'm sure most of us are well aware of. Such make sure your firewall isn't blocking anything, make sure any unused programs or processes or closed out etc, and try again.

hmm i got it fixed . well since my computer is new i got it a week ago. there wasnt really much on it. so i did a system restore and now psu runs. maybe i deleted something or i dunno. that made it stop working . but thats what i did. i dont think you guys wanna do that.

I assume you're running Vista as well Alura? I've heard someone got it to work by dual booting into XP on the same machine.
I want to stay away from dual boots, but system restoring back to before the 5/11 update may work. I guess I'll give that a try later on. Hopefully I have a recent restore point. >.<
Edit: System restore caused PSU to fail to boot entirely (and an error in my anti-virus ._.) I'm going to reinstall PSU and see if that fixes it.
Edit: Reinstalled. Same error.

i said that all wrong sorry. i mean i resotred my whole system to its factory settings. so i made it new again. just like when i took it out of the box.
that worked for me. i know i had deleteg my anit virus before 5/11 and it was giving me problems but after i did this its fine.

Ohhh, a Windows reinstall. I'm not experienced enough in OS installation, I'd probably screw something up. And I'm not gonna dare ask my dad, I'd get the typical "WHAT'D YOU SCREW UP NOW!?" argument. XD
Well I'm going over to a friend's(who quit back in Feb) house and I'm going to install PSU onto his XP laptop and see if I can get it to run.
It should work, but Kupi's had some problems with XP so we'll see.
Edit: Possible fix?

I'd try it, but last time I changed compatibility modes with Vista, I REALLY screwed up my PSU, so I'm not gonna bother to do it again.

I also noticed I got some, windows security updates around the same time the game was updated, I wonder if these new security updates have anything to do with blocking game guard from running. Either way I'm not going uninstall every security fix or reboot to factory settings just to get one game to work
Also I am the one that got PSU to run dual booting Windows XP on the same computer, only issue with that is, once I install XP I am unable to get back into vista unless I run the startup and recovery option from the vista dvd it is a bit time consuming and not a recommended work around in my opinion.
