Fortefighter is where it's at dawg. Though you should try out both classes and see which one you like the most. Though if you pick Protranser have patience since your stats will start out subpar but will get better overtime.

Lets take a look at the classes:
Protanser- Unless you have a lot of patience for getting MP stay away from this class
Fortefighter- Be a beast or CAST to do this job, humans dont have that great of stats, but go for it.

My personal opinion would be either guntecher or wartecher.

If you plan to get AoI, you might want to pick Protranser to get a head start. They get decent stats, S-Ranks, and godly traps from what I hear.

Since you're a human, you can play all the jobs well. I say cap them all, and play whichever you like most.

Well I'm a human aswell. I'm doing all the classes I got Fortefighter to 10 & hunter, ranger, & force too at Lv.10. Anyways, I say go for whatever you feel like doing. Humans are a VERY versatile class, do what interests you, when it interests you.

You should level your main up first, then worry about alt's, you're wasting time and money on Alt's when you could be rich and powerful and have time to have fun.

Thats why humans are so awesome, we can be whatever and not have to worry about "sucking" [well, I dunno if CAST fTs or Newman PTs suck either, I'm sure they can be pretty good too].

Newman fF's are hardcore.
CAST fT's are usually more dependable than Newman ones.
Beast fG's kill everything before they land a single tier 4 status effect.

The weakness in stats is easily made up by the players skill.
