Hey, so I have a 50% FIRE Brandline...

yepp, that rubbish 2* armor that you forgot about a long long time ago.

Is it worth me buying a better armor for firebreak?

EVERYTHING in these missions are fire element. There's nothing of other elements to kick your ass in using weak armor; so by all means go for it.

Even the Gohmons will be fire? GAK

You have 10 days until the event starts. Try for a B rank armor with 50%.

Even the gohmons. But they're the least of your worries. Jarbas and Poravoras are fire too, and Jarbas being fire is NOT a good thing. Besides keeping the megid, it's gained a ton of new and more painful attacks (without fire armor, it did 3675 to a lv80 cast).

That said, since most of these missions are speed based, don't throw out your fire based bullets or x-foie attacks just yet...

I'm sure ppl would prefer them being fire (inflicting burn) than ice (inflicting frozen)...

What attacks do jarbas gain? o.0;;

Foie, gifoie, rafoie, something we like to call the "fart" attack (we honestly don't know what it is, it just happens; this is what did the horrendous amounts of damage, and poravoras have access to this as well). If it doesn't one shot you, it just smears burn status all over the place.

Jabas is normally fire already? it still change to more fire? O,O
but I think Gifoie "should" better than dambarta (not sure, since never face it)

You can get one shotted by creatures other than the Jarbas? O_O

What I am really trying to find out is would this defend me more than say a A rank with only 18% fire

drizzle

It would by a very large margin.

.... maybe I should mass synth cheap low level armors hoping for a high % too http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Exactly what Im thinking... but naw, its not like Beast Wartechers really need crazily high elemental %. I'll just make an average Fire Yamata Senba, I need the slots more than the elemental percentages

Ack! A 14% Fire 9* Yamata Senba & a 14% Lightning Yamata does the trick for me. Its difficult to afford any higher percentage...

This was a my idea as well. Very cheap.

I do not think the same rule applies to weapons though, UNLESS they are grinded, which upon breakage would be a HUGE loss.

It doesn't work very well on weapons, because the stats actually factor to something XD

I have a 50% fire Midiline. It was cheap because I synthed it... also have various other 30%+ armors of random elemtns of the same armor.

Working on a yamata-line atm.

Sadly with a low ranked armor, you can't equip the Resist/Burn Unit that will be key to this event.

The key is speedy and strategic use of Antimates, Solmizers and Reverser. I don't have Resist / Burn, and I don't know anyone who has it.

It won't be missed or needed.

Best thing to do would be to mass synth B grade armors, probably between gigaline or agehasenba, if people figure the slot selection is necessary. Otherwise, a Haldline or a gigaline topped with a rainbow unit from the NPC works well too. Resist/burn is useful but far from necessary. In fact, burn is the least of your problems, the biggest problem is trying to water down as much of the sheer damage potential that the mobs bring to you.

lol i actually just made a 50% fire 3star armor, forget the name...its in my shop for 25,000 but i think i should save it for this fire event...hmm. maybe i will work on some 5 star armors and making them fire.

the hardline armor from the NPC shop will be better for you http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Mystil
May 15, 2007, 07:45 AM
No it wont. You can't use mega/rainbow with it. And even if you it could, the margin of defense would still be ridiculous.

So, you guys all think it WILL be able to stand up to S2 rank fire beasties? wow. .. not bad for a Brandline!

50% cuts incoming fire damage in half. That's a lot more than for example the 175 DFP from a 9* Kotoha-Senba will do (this dfp would lower damage by a whopping 44 points) at the higher level missions.
