View Full Version : For the love of God, WHY?!?

I was pretty pleased to get a Stormline board and all of the required materials. Spent 32 hours synthing it, and when I pull it out I get a f-ing monomate! Why hast thou forsaken me, Synthing God? And, and... the worst part... both my character and my PM were full of monomates from other failed armors, so my multi-million meseta monomate (try saying that ten times fast) was discarded! I was looking forward to savoring its sweet, sweet flavor of failure. Why does it have to be near impossible to synth an armor? Why is it 10x more expensive than synthing a weapon? Time to kill something now..

This is why you don't try to synth S rank armors.

Ever.

Omega, if you don't try, how will anyone even get those S-rank armors? Unless someone tries, and succeeds, we'll all be reduced to crappy armors. So keep trying. Just don't go broke doing it.

They don't, nobody on PSU deserves the e-peen of having an S rank armour equipped.

accepting failure is the key in this game or else you will start crying for your broken weapons.

Store bought armor likely would have been better anyways due to elemental %

No... the little gnomes that wispered in my ear telling me to synth it said it was gonna be a 44% fire one. Lesson: Never trust gnomes!

Was this on a pure Armor PM as well? I'm beginning to wonder if I made the best choice for a PM that will actually synth anything. Armors sounds impossible no matter what...

I'll admit it, I find 440 just too adorable... (or whatever number it was.)

Neoptolemus
May 16, 2007, 12:29 AM
Yeah, it was on a pure armor PM. 56% and 32 hours. I find my PM to have been a giant waste of meseta! Shoulda done a pure melee one. There would have been less tears.

I empathize...

I pray to the "digital holy spirits " just so my weapon synths will succeed. I didn't use to;
until I had some synth's botch-up. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Nowadays, I just spank my PM if she fails, and feed her a tasty treat if she succeeds.

Hmm. That might make a funny etchi picture. "Bad 440! Don't" *slap!* "fail" *slap!* "S-rank armor synths!" *slap!*

*busts out sketchbook, giggling maniacally*

I keep threatening her with a PM Zero device, but I think she knows that I am all talk. I'm such a pushover for little metal ladies.

This is why I'm affraid of making an armor PM lol. Unless Sega comes up with a way to make a bigger profit from questing (and I mean the rewards, not selling something stupid for something odd million XP) then it's just too expensive for me to even wanna try!

Yeh same, i gave up trying to synth armors a long time ago. Guns were the way forward, but they are getting boring now lol

im guessing teh reason why armor synth sucks, i sthey never get destroyed, and you only need 1 or at most 1 per element. So as time passes there will always be more armor, weapons in theory can get destroyed, and you probably need lie up to 4 of each weapon type, and if your a hunter hunt for good %s that can evaporate with a simple grind. S rank armors are interesting though since getting polymers is like totally not easy, espcially outside of parum. good luck getting teh orta polymers for bajisenba, guess sanctuary is teh nbest bet

I swear, there is a secret PM blackmarket where all those "failed synths" get sold & traded among our minxy little metal ladies. No wonder they all have awesome equipment! *shakes fist*

See, heres the key, synth it in somebody elses PM, and tell the OWNER of that PM that bad shits going to happen to it if it doesn't synth your stuff.

I tried that on a katsuno zashi board.

She synthed all 3.

Armor synth rates are low because its the only item that can (and will) be used by every class in the game. Weapons are only usable by a certain percentage of the total population. At least that's my theory...

The funniest thing is, the instructions on synthing hint that you might possibly get something GOOD and SPECIAL from a failed synth.

Has anybody gotten anything GOOD from a failed synth? Anything that ever made you say, "Wow! Now I'm glad that synth failed!"

I think I recall a Sabra failing into a Scape Doll once.

I take mine out for a good 'ol fashion beating and then I don't feed her her favorite cakes and juices for a couple days. Then she'll get the idea. Maybe she'll synth my Howrod. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Same here. I think I got a scape doll once from a failure. But it's probably from a failed 7* - 9* gun.

Better than trying to grind something you synthed and losing it when there was a 90-something% success rate.

If it's any consolation, my 441 failed a friend's 9* armor all three attempts. She also failed all three attempts at a Megaline. In fact, the best armor she's crafted is a Brandline.

Last night, I killed her. Dawnshine, the GH-441 is deceased. In her place is Delsanora, GH-442. If she succesfully makes one Megaline out of three attempts, she'll already be better!

Should've given it to me. At least you could've gotten an agtaride.

At least it's just one s-rank. It's nowhere near as bad as failing 5 crea doubles synths.

My armor PM has, thus far, failed six Ganna Line synths. D: Six.

The worse news is, even if you succeed at synthing a stormlin - with, say, fire - it will probably come out 10%, and some no-talent ass clown will take less damage with his 34% fire megaline (ass clown in qiestion being me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif )

The percentages on things is messed up sometimes, my friend failed a stormline too... My worst fail in history ever has to be 9 kubara synths in a row on a 100 ranged 430 x_x Included among those where two Tengoh bows at 90% chance >.<;;;

I'm just hoping that S rank armors make it to the shops come AoI. Heck, these chances are so ridiculous and yet, the boards so rare. :/

whats the point of having any hunts if everything was buyable in stores? could you imagine buying all the old rares like a chainsawd or stand still shield in stores in PSO?

Actually, you DO get the Chainsawd, PSU-style, from a store - the Casino store! XD
