Phantasy star for the PS3

Phantasy star is comin out for the x-box and i am hopin it comes out for the ps3, i loved it on the CUBE and i have PSU on the ps2 and i would like one of the games to make a come back eg: episode 1&2 or psu, doin this would kick arse and make my life alot better.

PSU is ok but it needs the offline multiplayer added to it.

Is coming? Was some future Phantasy Star game announced for an Xbox system, that I'm unaware of?

And, really, Sega needs to stop with the multi-platform games thing. As they've proven several times (Sonic Team has, at least), they're not very good at making a quality game, when they're worrying about making it work on multiple platforms. Thus the inexplicable bouts of slowdown on PSU across all three platforms, when a game of that graphical intensity should run (more or less) flawlessly on any of them (and this is assuming you merely have a modern gaming PC, not a high-end one).

They should really just stick a singular game on a singular platform, and maybe port it over to another one at a later date; they obviously aren't that talented with developing it for multiple platforms at the same time.

i think the point he starts with is refering to the original xbox (not 360) pso ep1+2 game... hmmm this game was released years ago though!!!???

final fantasy 7 project i believe is over... this was a biggy a year ago or so.. they made a few spin offs of it, ps2 game,a few mobile phone games and the movie, o and also a ps3 trailer for ff7(just the intro cgi). everyone wants a remake/part 2, but it doesnt seem to be happening =(

Meh... I would believe that when I saw it... Square-enix were gonna make it for the ps2, but after spirits within flopped (cos it got slated - in my opinion wrongly), they didn't have the cash to do it...

They are still making too much money than they need off the PSOne version.

The PS3 was an epic failure of a console, but if they where to re-make FF7 and put it on the PS3 then... well... who knows how well the system would do. They could certainly use it since they are losing all their exclusives to the xbox 360. Which is kinda funny.

Yea garnet, the "failure" thing you mentioned is pure opinion, is it living up to the "ps2 legacy"?, probably not atm (depending on who you talk to) but the PS3 is anything BUT a failure, the thing sold more then the PS2 did in its initial release time frame, it arguably had better games at launch, and has some decent looking games coming up that could be AAA titles.

But this is no console vs. console opinionated topic, I believe what the OP was trying to say is that the "next" Phantasy star (online/universe?) game (similar to PSO ep.1&2) should be remade on the PS3/360/PC and not the PS2... as the upcoming expansion could be seen (emphasizing could) as PSO V.2 (new weapons/enemies) and not a full blown new episode (PSO ep 1&2) and the change from DC to GC and Xbox.

Ps3 is going to FAIL completely within the next 3 years.

It would be a waste of money for ST to invest in porting it to that system.


Besides, why the hell would you need to when you already have it on 360? 360 is PERFECTLY capable of Offline multiplayer in terms of raw processing power, possibly even 10 player splitscreen if they had to.


If anything, i would want this game to get Ported to the Wii. (much more likely. Nintendo and Sega most likely have a much better relationship than Sega and Sony, mostly because Nintendo gave most of the Sonic DC ports good success, espically SA2B.)

Although, any Phantasy Star game on Wii would be VERY much of a workout if motion was implemented. I would just rather them port it to the Wii for the power for SPlitscreen multiplayer and WiFi.

It's still pathetic. If I recall, the PS2 sales in the first 6 months were ABYSMAL because they were forced into a TOTAL RECALL after 2/3 of the consoles had the Disc Read bug.

if people have not noticed that most games r goin multiplatform due to the game makers get more money from the gamers and in the future there will be more games made that will be exculsive to the ps3 and the x-box, which i have both and the ps3 is better.

the ps3 can handle alot more than most computers so if they made a phantasy star game for the ps3 then they could make the graphics better and the game bigger and they need to keep the multiplay off-line game play in the game.
