Hi all, lets think up a tier list for the race/class hybrids on PSU! For those who dont know, a tier list is a list of characters rated from bottom to top tier by their stats, strengths, etc. Lets go!

Middle tier:
Players who focus on tagging monsters and doing their own damage while keeping his teammates in mind and not being a nuisance.

Low tier:
Random dood who rashly runs into a pack of monsters brainlessly mashing his PA button without scapes thinking forces will do nothing but stay in melee range to resta him.

Let me explain why tier lists are bullshit.

A tier list is to show the "best" character in a game. In this case,we are using classes and races,etc. This is based of raw facts(in this case Frame data,Matches won,rounds won etc.) and what has been proven over and over. The problem is it does not account for skill. Here's what I mean.

If you notice,Johnny is in "B" tier. This is supposed to say that Ky who is "S" tier is a better character,and comparatively,Ky,based on hard data will win.

Again this does not account for skill. Tier lists are based on what has been constantly proven,this means that if Dizzy was used consitantly by many players over and over with a specific technique and constantly won,then she would be considered "top tier"

But,because she is not,her potential remains to be unlocked,she is considered "bottom tier"

Now,to relate this to this game.

You want a tier list based on raw damage and stats? That can only go so far,it won't tell you much but here's something.

S tier:
Fortetecher

A tier:
Fortefighter,Fighgunner

B tier:
Wartecher,Fortegunner

C tier:
Guntecher,Protranser

Okay,that's based of from what I can tell. Now,if you want what I think the "real" tier list should be,based on unlocked potential proven skills blah blah?

Feel free to flame. It's late and I have nothing better to do. This is all based on opinion anyway.

I guess the point of it all is this.

It does not matter who you play as,your class or whatever,sure there are obvious,more EFFECTIVE ways of doing things. But there is no "BEST"

But then again we all knew this.

You do what is best for you,in some cases,what is best for your party. Of course,we play this game for enjoyment,so your all going to do what you want. If there is a "BEST" the it's actually whoever is enjoying themselves the most. You'll usually find the best parties your in is where you have the most fun. But that's a given.

Funny, the bold ones are the ones that are my favorites, and the one in the caps is the one that I'm the most effective with. In the cast of Super Smash Bros., Marth is my best guy, but for the rest, I seem to be more effective with the lower tier characters, I even suck at most of the higher tiers like Fox and Falco while I'm my friends' worst nightmare with Luigi. Same with Guilty Gear, I'm just a monster when Dizzy's in my hands. This is why like Ein said, tiers are total bullshit.

Just a friendly disagreement, tiers exist based solely on the fact that all characters have differences. The only way you could factually say tiers don't exist is if everyone was equal in every way. One thing you have to learn about tiers is that they DO NOT dictate who will win. Skill obviously plays the biggest role in who wins. Tiers are a guideline that shows who is more likely to win when comparing two equally skilled players.

In the realm of fighting games, some characters are just better, fewer frames to recover, ease of comboing, etc. When you watch high level play, you see the same few characters for the most part, there is the odd, low tier character, played by someone quite skilled. Other than that, the best players will use what has been proven to be the best. If you think a skilled player is NOT going to experiment with a low tier character, you are wrong. If it turned out the a low tier character could decimate 95% of the characters that other high level players use, they will learn that character inside and out.

Now, in relation to PSU, class tiers are a joke. They each serve different purposes, unlike a fighting game, where everyone's purpose is to whoop the other guy more than he whoops you.

Race tiers on the other hand you can't deny. I won't get into it, but really, since all races have different stats/special powers there has to be some order of dominance. That is to say that when comparing players of equal skill, there is a difference among races. Unless of course you believe ST has made the world's first perfectly balanced game (lol).
