View Full Version : Fortetecher Line Shield Recommendations?

I've only been playing PSU (360) for a couple of months and I've got a level 58/5 character.

I've managed to get this far mostly in Hoza Senba (with a dark element) but now I'm doing some tougher S & S2 runs really need some different types of elemental armour.

I've looked all around the NPC/player shops and really can't find anything within my price range (I've got about 300k). There are elemental line shields I can afford but they are lower specs than my Hoza.

Can anyone recommend me anything, particularly of the Ice/Fire variety or do I just have to get more cash and buy the A Rank stuff?

A hiragi-senba is like the best out there but thats out of your price range so I'd say a Sori-senba 11% ice 360k npc cheaper in player shop. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_beer.gif

The Sori-senba is ice only too. For your fire armor, stick with a Hoza-senba until you can afford something better.

By NPC shop ice-only.

When synthing, I'm pretty sure you can decide the element.

Sori is ice only. If money is an issue for you, perhaps you can look for Hoza- or Har-Senba's with different elements on them?

You said money was a problem so for ice get gi-senba and the mega rainbow body unit. Not sure if you have the dfp but for fire try Giga Line.

ive used a hoza-senba throughtout my play time with no element it works just fine..Its not the i couldnt afford other armors, it was just the best thing for me. I never even touched a sori-senba in my life cause ice element armor CAN kill you >.>. then i moved on ot hiragi which was a nice touch..
Now i use michi-senba 20% fire only cause i cant be seen without any type of STA booster..It just won't happen for me >.>

I remember being stuck using a SORI-Senba till like lvl 68 or so i think. As long as you stay away from Vandas you're fine. In fact a lot of Forces and Rangers too use Sori Senba for all 4 slots despite the ICE. We stay far back enough to RESTA or -mate safely. Just don't attempt to DAMBARTA a De Ragon while wearing one >_>

Yep, Sori-Senba is probably the best you can get against anything not fire. You might be able to get one for a good price if you browse through player shops. I'd say use Sori-senba, and switch to some fire element armor like Gigaline when you get assaulted by fire monsters. I think that should fit your budget. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Raise an armor PM and synth elemental Ageha-Senbas until you get 44-50%

Ok, you have 300k and play on the 360.. I understand mass armor synthing or hell, raising an Armor PM wouldn't be feasible. I suggest buying the Gi-senba and Gigaline (though the Gigaline has no head slot for your Fortetecher) for 45k each from the NPC for now, then keep saving until you can purchase Har-senbas or Yamata-senbas (when you can wear them) with 30% percentages.

The lower specs won't make too much of a difference. With armor, it's the elemental percentage that counts. If you absolutely must have that head slot for your fire armor, you can see about buying one from a player shop. Back when I leveled my fT at level 47, I just used Gi-senba (and a Hoza-senba with 20% fire I bought) and went by just fine.

Why are do you want to use an A rank armor? If you don't have a har/quick, you don't need A rank armors right now. Get some ageha-senbas

Thanks everyone. It's been very useful.

In the end I bought a fire Hoza Senba and an ice Har Senba to go along with my dark Hoza Senba that has got me so far.

It was really the extra elemental that I was after, not necessarily A rank armour, because I solo quite a lot and found that is when a lot of tactical play had to go out of the window with the speed of the mobs - I just ended up getting too close to comfort some times!

So far it's going well but as I get more meseta and exp I'll certainly be checking out the other recommendations in this thread.

Thanks again!

This is the correct answer. I've got 50%s in everything but light and earth, which are 44%. You wouldn't believe what a huge difference a high percent can make.

You should only use A rank armors if you have units that require them such as Har/Quick and Sori/Force. I used a Me/Quick though I'm sticking with my Agehas.

My fortegunner on the otherhand has a Solid/Power S so I have to use A rank armors for her.

Ageha Senbas. Plus they boost the ATP of the 8* fan. So you can synth a bunch of those, grind them and have likely a better set up than with an S rank fan. Everyone will laugh at you, but everyone (as evidenced by this thread) is a huge noob.

Why Yamata? Isn't that only like 5 more damage reduction over a 7*?
