View Full Version : So... Has this game gotten more enjoyable?

I stopped playing somewhere around January, being bored of the game... So what I wonder is, has the game gotten substantially better, or would I experience the same enjoyment/boredom that I had between December/January?

Also, seeing how I haven't logged on in 4ish months, are my characters gone?

characters will still be there, i went 4 months after cancelling my xbox360 account and then reactivating it and all my stuffs were still there. and if you're talking PC, well then, im thinking you could probably go another 4 months w/o worry. but anyway, there's more stuff to do, sure. so i guess it could tide you over for a while, but boredom is bound to find you again if it struck once before

HI, did u cancel your account on the xbox360 or by phoning a number?

I use to play PSO on the gamecube and loved it played it for about a year or 2 then played this for 2 weeks and got bored at lv 17 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif .

A lot has changed. There's more content, more stuff, more to do. Just take some time and do a bit of research to catch up on everything.

More content, same game. If the core gameplay didn't excite you, I'd stay away.

ppl who like PSO but dont like PSU, mostly say with the same reason about boring on redo the same mission(who tell them to do so?),
while in PSO, alway do like forest>cave>mine>ruin.
but in my view, PSO have only 10 total missions while PSU have like 30 missions, and I have enough friends to do any mission I want. so PSU > PSO a lot for me.

It's one of the great mysteries of our time. Myself, and probably many others all agree that PSU has a lot more variety than PSO, in terms of combat, levels etc. etc., yet we find PSO endlessly fascinating and enjoyable whereas PSU bores us to tears.

Doesn't make sense, does it?

It happens, though.

I mean, PSU is a definite improvement on PSO, but for some reason I just can't get the drive to play it as I can PSO.

I'm coming back after a long break as well. I got fired up when I happened to check out what's been updated since last winter and am excited about illuminus coming out.

I played the demo to get reaquainted and got hooked again despite the endless "Naked pics 2000k" spamming. So now I'm waiting for my copy of the full version in the mail.

Liking the game is different for each. I like it just about the same way the day I started, so nothing is really changed. If you didn't find PSU interesting then, even with more content now, it probably won't be now. It's still pretty much the same game, though v2 will expand that a bit.

Sega stated that it has the rights to delete your online data if you are inactive for more than 3 months. But no one has reported so yet.

The game gets better, I think, once you get to about level 35 because you get strong enough to where you can play virtually any mission pretty well, at least at C-Rank. So, from then on, the grind isn't so noticeable because of the variety you have in missions. Yes, there are people who obsessively, to the point of mental disorder, do NOTHING but run the Parum missions endlessly (Mad Beasts/Crimson Beast), but there's a fairly constant stream of people who like doing other stuff too.

This game has certainly gotten more exciting.

There are higher ranking weapons, a special event coming, and A rank weapon grinder boards being released tomorrow.
It's starting to diverse a lot in player uniqueness. Everyone no longer is "exactly" the same. People are coming closer since the community is starting to compact; where as everyone seems to start to know one another through a chain of friends or so.

It gets exciting since I have people to "race" against when there's something new to obtain. It's one of my favorite things to do.

You'll find a way to have fun in this game no matter what. When you become bored that is mainly because you've played this game far too long or have not tried to go around places and check out events that are happening.

Soon there will be AoI which will have a casino. A perfect addition to get away from all the crazy grinding. This only makes me wish they added a mini game of PSO episode 3 into the casino section... That would make this game a 10 for me.

Mad Beasts S2 is the first "hot" mission I've spent a lot of time doing, because of the chance of S ranks... I tried my best to get one before Firebreak came along and the mission may/may not be unavailable for a while. It's been a lot of fun getting to know all or most of the people who hang out in that mission and bit of lobby at the same time as I'm usually on.

Otherwise the variety of missions now is useful and exciting. Obviously you need to move around a bit to farm materials for making various weapon types (okay, lot of moatoob there) and when you're training skills ... bullets especially ... it's handy to pick missions where those bullets are going to be most effective and you can get somewhere in terms of loot or frags or whatever.

I've always enjoyed the game, but then again, I've always had a great group of friends to enjoy it with.

PSU has rare hunting now. This increases its worth by more than tenfold.

The game had too much "Rush, kill dragon/other bosses I forget", repeat" going on at the time, if that improved I'd probably enjoy it more.

I'll probably do some offline, and then decide if I want online.

And nothing like FSOD from PSO has been made, right?

the game for new player may not be as fun, because theres a large gap between psu vets and newbies, im sure if a low lvl asks a random lvl 80 thats been walking around in circles for a haf hour going "im sooooo bored" for help, theyd be more than happy.

I remember while leveling a low level alt some new player died without scapes and "said guess your gonna boot me..." i used a random moon X which was one the floor <<
The trouble for new players is that they have a hard time finding a party at the start thanks to the No scape=boot policy many ppl use <<...mp is overated anyways

And the game is still fun for me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif and gets better as time goes past(even if at one point i found it really boring mainly for only knowing like 3 regular ppl i could party with...after i met new ppl the game regained it's interest http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)

For me the game is still a bore. Blame it on the low level cap. In any other game of this nature I can hunt rares and even if I don't find anything I'll still at least feel as though I'm making progress towards *something* since I'll still be gaining experience and levels. Not the case in PSU though. The level 80 cap is ridiculously easy to hit, and with a capped job level (which is also insanely easy to get) there's not even any reason to finish or fully complete any of the available missions.
