You can Parry in PSO? Just found out that if I hit my attack button right as an enemy attack I was blocking his hit with no damage to me. Is this just for sabres or can any weapon do it?

Also... are androids immune to poison, paralysis and freeze? (heard they get 'paralyzed' by lightning attacks though)

And which is better... a HUcast wielding a gun (mechgun or bazooka/phazon launcher of some type) or a RAcast wielding a melee weapon (partisan)?

Have been making different charecter types and just messing around. Any who know the androids... do their traps ever increase in effect? (Length of freeze/confuse and increase in damage for the fire trap?)

I don't think you actually parry... it's just a result of your shield and EVP.

Androids are immune to Paralysis (not Shock) and Poison. They can still be Frozen and they can still suffer Shock (which is very similar to Paralysis). On DC, only Androids could suffer from Shock, but now anyone can (bah!).

And a HUcast with a melee weapon or a RAcast with a gun would be best ^_~

Obviously a HUcast with a melee or RAcast with a gun would be best *Grins* Question is when you mix them up how do they fare.

Also... as far as 'special' abilities of weapons like confuse and 1 hit hill. Are RAs best at them due to their high ATA? So far I -love- confuse with the traps... just imagining the havoc with the traps plus nailing with confuse shots.

As far as the parrying... my HUcast I was messing around with had NO shield or barrier. He was just starting and when ever I hit the button right as enemy started to attack I -ALWAYS- got a flash of green light, met their attack with my sword in a parry, and then took no damage. When I did not hit the button then I either evades or took a 'light' (less damage, no knockdown) or heavy (ouch damage, yes knockdown) hit.

There is no parry in this game. Even if your char has no barrier/shield equiped, he/she still has some EVP. And thus, will block, occasionally.

Your android gets more traps as they level up. I'm not sure if they're effectiveness changes, though I'm sure the damage trap must increase in strength as you get higher.

Sedric... then why did it work ALL the time I hit the button? My weapon raised to meet theirs in a green flash and it only did this when I hit attack right as they attacked.

Did a test... did 10 minutes of getting hit and hitting no buttons... I did not get a single parry.

Then did 10 minutes specifically hitting the simple attack button every time an enemy did a melee attack to me. I parried 90% of the attacks. A random number generator can NOT be off that much. The only ones I didn't parry were when I waited a little too long.

Hard attack also worked for this, no noticable difference between between simple and hard for parrying.

This also worked when using a cane with a Force charecter. Tried both FOmar and FOnewm and both parried.

When I parried I did NOT hit the enemy, my sword met theirs. And neither of us took damage.

hmmmmmmmm...........sounds, cool and I never would have thought of parrying in a game like this... :/

Love it a lot, now that I started doing it I manage to block most hits to me. Haven't tried doing it with a gun in hand... not sure if that works or not. Makes melee combat a -lot- more interesting. You have to hit the attack button right as they start the swing. Doing it right when their claw strikes you does nothing. I guess it is for you to get your weapon up to block it or something.

Trying it again it may not be Parrying... depressing though. Just was a coincidence I pressed the button almost every time I parried. Still seems odd... but I still parry without pressing it. Just feels like less often.

Also... on a website listing stats it showed RAcast with about 300 more HP than HUcast at level 200. Is this correct? HUcast seems to get more HP per level and starts with more.

You're right Glyph, that does work. It's not exactly something you'd want to do though, you're better off just moving out of the way and then attacking and getting a hit.
