Basic force spells ?

Well, due to the missions I've decided to try and get force to 10. . not as thrilled about the job as it was in PSO but meh. . I don't want to lose my melee PA's. . so it gives me only about 10 spots left. . Which one's do I absolutely need as any force job ?

Foie, Diga, Dambarta, All 4 buffs, Resta and Reverser

Edit: Are you getting force to 10 just to do it or to actually play the job? You can skip the buffs if the latter

What kind of equipment is prefered ? I see all sorts of forces running around with Canes and/or Rods. . But which is the one that's needed. .

Each has it's own specialty:

Canes
- Faster Casting Speed
- One handed weapon
- Lower PP
- Only 2 Spells can be bound
- Lower TP (Damage/Heals)

Rods
- Slower Casting Speed
- Two handed weapon
- Higher PP
- Ability to bind 4 spells
- Higher TP (Damage/Heals)

I think that takes everything into account...note that Wands are good for healing and good for fast damage, although rods will be best for big numbers and heavy PP costing spells.

id say the other way around.

id rather my team be defencivly pumped; so they can live, not just for a little more power.

spells:

Foie; Diga; Dambarta; Rafoie; Rabarta; Resta; Reverser; Ramegid (buffs are up to you, ppl are past having buffs or not)

Zoldeel is a Debuff... so you mean Zodail.

Zodail is the most useful Buff I've seen, so I carry a stash of Zodairides on all my chars, even my CAST Fortegunner.

What good is Shifta if the Shifta'ed can't hit their target?

I say get Zodail, Retier and Deband. Defencive wave of stuffs...

Deband = Newman help
Rtier = CAST help

Retier makes forces godly (ok, more godly). Forces to single-hit damage and never miss unless something is out of range of they aimed wrong. They also do the most single-hit damage and do some wicked DPS spells as well. The only other class that can do more damage is a fortegunner 'cause of SE's. However they accomidate a force or two for healing, buffs and damage.

In all honesty, the fact that 95% of people say Forces "need" Diga makes me laugh.

You don't "need" Diga, contrary to what everyone else might tell you. I've never had it, never wanted it, and never plan to purchase it. So far I've gotten 46 levels without ever regretting it, so it's really not a big deal.

Spells that you should have consist of Damubarta and at least one Ra-tech, as well as Deband and Retier in my opinion. Gi-anything isn't really a necessity. Foie does help considerably with its speed and damage, but I've always just used Damu and Rabarta.

Believe me, Diga-based techs are not the end-all, be-all like everyone would have you believe. Use the techs you want, just make sure you have at least one Ra and one Damu tech. And Retier, since, like someone else already said, it makes us Godly =)

...You've never actually played PSU, have you?

There's quite a considerable gap - (Yohmei) Rods usually have almost twice the PP of a GRM Wand. Even moreso over a Tenora Works wand (albeit with about the same TP in that case).
