View Full Version : Hilarious freak Barba Ray glitch

While I was fighting the Barba Ray in Ultimate just a few moments ago, an Ul Ray happened to get "stuck", locking up the Barba Ray's entire attack pattern.
This happened when the Barba Ray was preparing to fire its photon breath ... the Pig Rays showed up, slid around, and went over the side ... the Ul Rays showed up and one of them somehow wound up sliding at the speed of molasses ... at first I thought it was stuck in place, but after a little while I realized it was taking several minutes to cross the raft.
During this time, the Barba Ray surfed patiently, waiting for its little ray friends to get off the raft so it could begin to breathe on us with its really dangerous halitosis. Naturally, after we stopped laughing our heads off, we took the opportunity to beat the snot out of the Barba Ray until the Ul ray finally slid over the side (after which a second wave of Ul Rays popped up before the Barba Ray began spitting white hot light bulb death.)
There's no direct cause for the glitch I can think of, it just seemed to happen while I was standing in the midst of the Ul Rays and tossing Rappy feathers at the Barba Ray. I've done that numerous times before in many, many Barba Ray battles without anything odd happening, so I'm guessing this is a freakish game screw-up.
LOL! That's pretty funny.
I once had a glitch during the DARK Falz fight. I went up to the monolith with my friends and nothing happened. I just quit the game after awhile.

Hey IceBurner I have a freaky Barba Ray story.
Few days ago, I was playing on Procyon with 3 jp players.
Soon after the boss match began, one of them lagged out and was frozen.
Then all of a sudden Barba Ray started wiggling around very very very fast, then all of a sudden he curled into a ball!!
Started spinning really fast (like blanka in Street Fighter) then shot straight up!
It was so damn funny, and all the jp players could say that I understood was, ? ? ? ? in the big font of theirs.
After the Ray flew into the air, the person who was frozen finally disappeared and everything turned back to normal. It was hilarious to see, let me tell you.

I remember back in the old DC days, I had several interetsing boss glitches. Once, fighting Vol Opt, he disapeared from the screens, but his pillars never popped up. We were just standing there, and nothing was happening. Finally, I had to start blasting with Razonde to even hurt him. Another time, fighting Falz, Falz turned to his third form, and froze. He just floated there the whole fight. That was the easiest Falz fight I ever had. Recently, when fighting a Del Saber in Hard Ruins on GC, every time I hit him, he made the Zol Gibbon scream. It was funny.

Oh man, can these bosses be glitchy. I've had somewhat similar things happen to me due to weird instances of lag, but nothing extraordinarily crazy, like those Barba Ray instances.
It was always nice when lag caused bosses to freeze in place so that we could get in some insane damage before it finally moved again. That happened a few times on the Dragon and De Rol Le, funny stuff.

Hehe...I like the Dark Falz one. The only time I've had a glitch it was on the Dragon in Normal (pssh..go figure).
Anyway... I was fighting the dragon, slaughtering him in fact. I knocked him down, then I took out over 1000 HP, but he wouldn't get up. I figured I had taken out his first life bar. So I waited for him to get up, and start digging. I waited for maybe 5 minutes, but he wouldn't get up. Just as I started to quit game, he appeared in the sky, and then dug under ground hyperspeed. He crawled around, then when he came up, he was still in hyperspeed. I ended up having to try and kill him while he was zooming around. Eventually I just figured I should stay about where he resurfaces, then when he lands, I could attack him. It was funny, annoying, and kinda cool at the same time http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I just hope it never happens with Dark Falz....yikes http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Ohh, that reminded me of my BIZARRE-O dragon glitch!!!
It was in the middle of an online game and happened during a chunk of lag or something... No one else seemed to see it, but when the dragon was using his burrow attack, he started spinning around in spirals, similar to the Sil Dragon! I believe this was on V1. Very interesting, does this mean that the Dragon was programmed to have an attack like this in V1? FREAKY.

playing cmode on dc, a grass assassin appeared but it stopped fading in and its shape was a semi clear crystaline. it looked similar in texture to the current flowens sword.
i think everybody who played v2 had vol opt glitches. i have seen him defeated several times but refuse to give exp and boxes. when this happened someone has to quit the game, then he will finally give up. i found this out when we had sat around waiting for a few minutes and the only way out was to quit. first person quits, then boxes and warp appear.
another opt glitch is the neverending first form defeated, second form starting shake screen. i think this happens when player one is lagging bad.
i had a minor glitch last night against dal ro lie. he was defeated just as he pulls back and dumps rocks. he stopped cold and sank, jumped out of the water behind the boat, dumped rocks, then died. i know he was dead because i couldnt target him during this.

I was fighting the dragon once, and all he did was walk after me. He never even blew fire or flew. It was incredibly lame.

i had a vol opt glitch once
we were online me and 3 friends we were on vol opts first form. we were attacking the monitors(3 of us) and one was attacking the device in the ceiling when everyhing froze when the first monitor blew and we all were laughing and joking about how vol opt must've gave up and ran away, because nothing was in the room but us.. then we waited 10 mins and the we decided to just quit and relog on after we quit one by one we disappeared and i was the last one and still it was frozen!! freaky huh?

I experienced another boss glitch offline with Dal Re Lie ... just as it was about to hop onto the ceiling again, it began doing some WEIRD stuff ... first it sunk straight down as though it were a dying Barba Ray. It was just plain [b]gone[/r] for a while, then suddenly appeared on one side of the raft! It swam about for a bit and I don't recall whether or not it attacked, but I do recall it leaping over the raft, only to disappear again, reappear, then suddenly leap up, scream and die!
I'm now looking forward to more glitchy boss fights as they are incredibly entertaining and amusing ^_^

I saw a slow pig ray last night. I took some pictures too. I'm going to start recording actual footage of boss fights just incase something else wacky happens.

Nearly all bugs listed in this thread are caused by latency problems.
Many things in teams are regulated by the team leader. When you do some of these things, it sends the message to the team leader, then to the rest of clients.
Also, many of these bugs are caused by PPP incompatability issues.
For example, when the boss' boxes are empty. This is because the other clients have already opened them. It happens because your client didn't recieve the message which said they've been broken open.
The Vol Opt bug or any of the other boss bugs are the same way. Ever have a boss which just never/took forever (eventhough you've done well over enough damage) to die? It's the same bug.

Here's a minor glitch that happened to me offline...
I was fighting the Dragon, giving it a really good smack-down. I had worked up a photon meter and was saving it to finish the beastie off. When I thought it was about dead, I called out Pilla for the killing blow... but it didn't do any damage. That's when I realized the dragon was already dead when I had used my Photon Blast. But... because I used the PB at *just* the right time, the camera did NOT freeze in a set position like it usually does during the dragon's death scene. I got to see the draggie collapse and die right in front of my face, moving camera and all! It was pretty neat http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Has this happened to anybody else?

The only amusing glitch I've seen in my days of PSO revolved around Vol Opt's second form. I was in a party of four, and we'd just beaten the monitors up. Of course, I expected us to have a rough time with form 2 (it always seems tougher in a group than it does when you go solo...) but instead, we get a SLAUGHTERFEST! Each of us took a side of Vol Opt, and began attacking it. And get this:It never did ANYTHING! It just sat there and took a beating until it blew up! Funny stuff, that, now if only I could get a glitch like that on De Rol Le...Oy. x.x;

I'm sure some of these mess-ups can be caused by latency or miscommunication, but things still occur offline, note the incident I had with Dal Re Lie ... it seemed like something that would happen due to lag, but at the time I was playing solo offline to unlock the ultimate mine (which I did, farewell for good caves!)
