So, we all know how repetitive this can get while we rush to save the Gurhal System. My question is, what does everyone listen to while they spam the missions? The in-game theme? An outside source? Dead Air because your speakers/headphones broke and you're too poor to afford new ones? I watch/listen to alot of youtube videos. This one is bookmarked.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=V_9sbNXNNYA

I like the song when i'm repelling the enemy invasion, and I love the pics/video when i'm on break.

And I considered the FKL as the place to post this, but since it deals with in-game issues and how we deal with them irl, I thought it'd be OK to go here.

P.S.: I totally did NOT steal this thread title from that song in that one Halo game. Totally didn't.

My computer is next to my ps2, so i leave my play list running while i play. also i'm on ps2, so i get that extra one milisecond off load time to play having the in game music off. i would do my own sounds too, but that's kind of going too far.

I usually listen to a nearby college station (88.5 for all your Georgia people), or just a random playlist (a little bit of everything from 311 to Elliott Smith to ZZ Top).

I do listen to the Fire SEED theme that plays with all the missions at times, but I'm apt to change it up as well.

Whichever one is the one that came with Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, I listen to it a lot. Angels with Burning Hearts?

Also, when I want something harder (for Scorched Valley A), I listen to F-Zero GX's Fire Field theme.

I've been listening to Angels With Burning Hearts, too. I went and picked it up just for this event, oddly enough.

Heh, my playlist for battle looks something like:

1. Grand Theft Auto - Two Tribes (3:53)
(from GTA Vice City soundtrack)
2. Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fight (3:17)
(Could there be anything funnier than using Bogga Danga and having Kung Fu Fighting playing?)
3. Nobuo Uematsu - The Man With The Machine Gun (2:49)
(That's the theme for the flashback fights in FF8)
4. Toshiro Masuda - Sarutobi (2:43)
(Naruto has good music and lousy main characters. <_<)
5. Seatbelts - 7minutes (6:48)
(It's from Cowboy Bebop, though I don't remember what ep)
6. Tom Petty - Runnin' Down a Dream (4:24)
(Best. Song. EVER.)
7. Drowning Pool - Bodies (3:45)
8. Grand Theft Auto - 2 Minutes To Midnight (5:59)
(Two badass songs back to back)
9. (Macross Plus) Information high (8:05)
(Best AMV I ever saw was a Macross Plus AMV to this song - that comes FROM Macross Plus itself!)
10. White Zombie - More Human Than Human (4:28)
11. Toshiro Masuda - Beautiful Green Wild Beast (2:00)
(more Naruto music)
12. Grand Theft Auto - I Ran (So Far Away) (3:39)
13. Three Doors Down - Kryptonite (3:53)
14. Rob Zombie - Feel So Numb (3:53)
15. Tatoo - I lost my mind (3:35)
16. Nena - 99 (Red) Luft Balloons (German version) (3:54)
17. Toshiro Masuda - Rock Lee's Theme (2:07)
18. powerman5000 - When Worlds Collide (4:27)
19. ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION - Haruka Kanata (4:02)
(second season Naruto opener)
20. Toshiro Masuda - Heavy Violence (3:12)
21. Mazedude - Doom 2 Gothic Sandy OC ReMix (3:32)
(Great, great remix)
22. Grand Theft Auto - Bark At The Moon (4:15)
23. Paul Oakenfold - Dread Rock (4:39)
(from Matrix Reloaded soundtrack)
24. Dj Abjurator - Kabuki Quantum Fighter USB MindLink OC ReMix (4:26)
25. Project A-Ko - Spaceship in the Dawn (5:06)
26. The Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings (4:17)
27. Sonic Team - From Seeing the Rough Wave (2:15)
(Yes, the worm battle music)
28. Blue Oyster Cult - Ballroom Blitz (4:02)
29. White Zombie - Super-Charger Heaven (3:37)
30. Grand Theft Auto - You've Got Another Thing Comin' (5:03)
31. Fluke - Zion (4:33)
32. Bon Jovi - Blaze of Glory (5:35)

Hmmm, was it a bit much to generate a .mp3 playlist of the songs I use? Of course, there's a few being added to that pretty soon - I've got some music to review...

Something good that I stumbled across today that has a very nice pace for the firebrake missions, especially the Endless Nightmare. No it is not an anime music track. (Thats right, not every song in Japanese is anime related.) Old School gamers should recognize the base melody almost immediately. The lyrics and music remix are fan made.

For those who don't recognize it: Rockman 2

I listen to my own music, and fiddle around with the notes that don't sound so good (I have a piano right next to my pc). 1 hand playing ftw! lol

As my PS2 is a bit away from my PC, I either listen to the defult music, or ingame turn the music/SE off and keep going.

Ok lets kick this up a notch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2ir7FbRH0I&mode=related&search=

But anyway, Game OSTs are my thing. Mushihimesama Futari is one i recently came across. pretty good all things considered but saddening that there aren't any remixes like the original OST had.

If I ever listen to music while I play games its usually this one CD my friend made. It contains every single Cowboy Bebop CD ever crammed onto one disc. I think my friend fit around 9.5~10 hours of music onto that one CD. The music for the series was so good, I don't think there is a single bad song in the collection.

Chaos Legion, Granado Espada, Grim Fandango, Phoenix Wright Meets Jazz and Phoenix Wright Meets Orchestra, they all work good as replacement BGM.

I'm on PS2 but I have a set of 4 speakers in my TV-room that I can plug my computer too so I just have the music coming out of them and the game sounds from the TV. It works really well.

When I first started,I mostly played Static X:Shadow Zone and assorted Sonata Arctica CD's.

After that I moved over to Techno/Drum/bass/Industrial.
When I spent a while soloing I listened to NIN:With Teeth a lot for some reason.
Then it was Rammstein,Omph! Eisbrecher,Megahertz.
When that was over I blasted some Anime Music, mostly from Macross,Outlaw Star,Big O,Plenty of Bebop and a nice dash of everything else I could come across.

More recently I've been listening to VnV Nation, some random Swing music. Billy Joel,Frank Sinatra. Big Band music.

Either the Ar Tonelico OST or the Tales of Destiny PS2 remake OST, for me. Though usually I'm fine with the in-game music.

A great song for running Firebreak missions I've discovered recently is off Ozzy's new album, "I don't wanna stop." For the dude being like, 59, that song freaking rocks.

I'm sorry but my choice wins this topic hands down. If you listen to the lyrics, its almost like they wrote the song specifically for this event...Hmmm... Freddy Mercury is the new 2Pac??...
