Is mad beasts s2 that good...

Im not high enough lvl yet because ive been on an alt but i was wondering:

Are the drops in Mad Beasts s2 common? I mean like are the chances of a "non-joke" rare dropping good?

Seriously though, the drop rate is pretty low... that's why people kept spamming it... and because the items it drops are so good for hunters and rangers. just got my second meteor cannon board this morning! but yeah, all i have seen is 3 cannon boards. I do this mission the most, and he material drops arent bad (8, 9 and 10* metals), but the S ranks are verrrry few and far between...

I agree that it's reasonable. There's enough new S ranks running around to show for it, but not so many that they are common.

It's particularly easier than, for example, a Crea Doubles or an Onma Halarod hunt.

Took me roughly 85 B1 solos to obtain my Two Headed Ragnus, 3 weeks of work (but at 6-8 min runs its not too hard). A bit much considering the chance of failure, but I'm still pretty satisfied.

That's true.. it depends what you're looking for. If it's the THR, than you can abandon after getting a bad map. If its Sweet Death (and it is for me), than you play all the way through then end >_<

Only thing I could find was the Rare Monsters page of PSUpedia. Scroll down to the Mad Beasts mission. It appears that you want the "C" map (2 haystacks on your left as you enter), then you want Poultys to the left of the "T", followed by Go Varha after you break open the three boxes in the semi-hidden path in the Northwest of this room (NW as you walk in).

The Halarod board? (am I forgetting something?) Forces get better stuff at Rainbow Beast, which is why they're all there... most of my parties at MB S2 are mostly fighgunners, with the occasional fortefighter >_> I can't blame fTs for not joining those parties (and I won't play fT there either).

On PC/PS2 yes, because most forces already have at least one Halarod. On 360 you will find many Forces willing to do this mission for their 10* rod. I am STILL looking for one!
