View Full Version : Mag questions....

I'm going to start playing PSO again. I found out a friend from work plays, so I figured I'd start playing too. Its been awhile..... and I forgot some of the basics for offline mode. Here is my question. For hunters and rangers, your mag should focus on power and dexterity, while for forces it should be max mind and some power. I wanted to double check. I'm not sure what to make as far as character wise. I was thinking Fonewm. How do they do on offline mode?

Thanks for any help http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

al.right
hunters:100 pow
30 def
60 dex
10 mind (of course if your an android just up the pow by 10 and make it have no mind.)
rangers:maybe add a lil dex and take away a bit of pow.
forces:20 def
20 pow
10 dex
150 mind

fonewm? good ra lv techs, so if u get a higher char to get to maybe hard, then u could buy good ra techs for ur fonewm.

FOnewm do pretty good offline. Mine is in V. Hard at level 31 {I didn't get there, though. I got to Hard Mines and was getting murdered. A friend of mine beat everything up to the Mines on Very Hard. It freaked me out. I still dunno how he did it.}. I'm comfortable though in Hard mode, mainly as a melee FOnewm, with some high level techs as backup.

If I were to go melee, should I be a Fonewm or Fomar? I like the bonus Fonewms get on Ra spells. I'll be playing offline, so the 2x distance for shifta and deband Fomars get seem pointless for me. If I were to pick Fonewm, would I manage okay using technics in Ult, or should I focus on melee and use the techs as support?

If you were to melee, Go with a FOmar. It wouldn't hurt to have two MAGs. One focused on power and the other focusing on mind so you can alternate.

FOnewm are the bomb just get max techs and you mag should look like this aboot

def-5
pow-0
dex-10
mind-185

or

def-15
pow-0
dex-0
mind- 185

i vote the latter because you wont need melee so might aswell prepare for a hit.... wont help much but that's what i used

I would use 5/0/50/145 for a force. Those stats allow you to create any rare MAG. The DEX helps out with Geist.

For the record, FOmars are excellent offline. 1.3 x Grants and GI techs is nice as well. They have more melee potential then FOnewms.

I do not have a power version of the MAG above, but I do have one at 5/65/44/86 that will max him (FOmar), and that I will equip when I want to melee. I always like to have good MST for support.

Edit. Forgot. I would not add defense to a MAG, even for a force. It is inefficient when you have equipment and, especially, Def Mats. You will wind up creating another MAG in the future if you raise a MAG that way.

Hunters you should have
125 power
50 dex
25 power
no mind
this may take a while but it is worth it

that is pretty much the way i would do rangers too... except you have power up there twice and not defence

for rangers i like something like

140 pow
10 def
50 dex
0 mind

although the dex isnt really needed w/ RAmar because of his ata it helps

125 power and 25 power O_o?

a good solid 5def, 145 pow, 50 dex, 0 mind mag always works good for Rangers and Hunters. A great boost to power and decent boost to accuracy. Plus you can make a rare mag as well. I've used this same mag basically from start to now on my Hunter and Ranger and I still use it.

Def on a mag in my eyes is useless if you know how to dodge well, and mind is also pretty much useless unless you want to use spells faster (or heal for more which is a waste since you can heal to full by walking out of the room without being interrupted).
