last night i was playin a game in Vhard with 3 other people. i was level 112 my friends were 92, celia, 104, prime, and 40, anti k, we were playin vhard ruins to help anti level up. anti suggested that i go to the forest and clear up to the dragon so that we can just kill it for easy exp. so i did. in the first room 2 boomas dropped a photon drop. next room booma drops a photon drop and the box in the room has a photon drop. four freakin drops in 2 rooms???? ive gone hours with out even a bloody art i didnt get it. needless to say i started ranting about how i found 4 drops in 2 rooms and of course celia had to run and find me. destroying my streak next 3 rooms nothing at all. then i got disconnected and that was what totally killed my streak but still 4 drops in 2 rooms is great now the real question is why did a level 112 humar get 4 drops in a vhard game where the enemys couldnt even hit me? ive heard theories that the game wont drop rares if you in a level thats far below yours but i think that this kills those theories. it was around 2-2.30 am est not sure what the beat time was. has anyone else ever hit a rare streak like this or have any ideas what can cause it?
Rares drop randomly.
Rather, they don't drop randomly but even if they are based on time, they can be based on nanoseconds, meaning to us... they are immesurable and random.

If you get that many rare drops in such a close proximity.. grats! Fortunately the other night I was offline and I found at least 6 rares (3 being alike) In like 4 rooms back to back. I think it's rare luck. ^_^ I found them during the 770-779 beat times.

the law of independent chance conquers all, every time you break a box or kill an enemy you have no better chance than any other time...
although over time the odds should closer match their chances... or at least that's what i think i tried not paying attention to in stats class

i have to agree that its supposed to be rando but can a computer be totally random? there has to be a patern theres no such thing as "random" to computers its all algorythims thats what its all based on really. Craps is random but theres odds to it and no one can explain why the 11 likes to be rolled on the come out, but when it does no complains about takin the money off the payline, my self included. theres no patern to dice but there has to be for it to be a machine, the same reason why i dont just video poker and video slots, i hate slots to begin with, but theres no way that thing can be random and its highly unlikley that even a regular mechanical slot machine can be totally random either. all in all the whole point of the post was that i had a nice streak i was happy then celia came and ruined it all http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif but what can ya do? and you be quiet majin ive know celia long enough to know hes a curse!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Why would ANYOHNE say they are purely random.
You have no proof.
Can you proof they dont uonly drop on your ID's beat time?
No one knows exsept Sega, so dont say this theory is wrong without proof.
No proof its correct, but you can't just cast it out.
It is just a theory, that for a TON of people comes very close to home.

well odds are its random and ur right there is no "proof" that its totatlly random only sega can say for sure. BUT!!! it does have to follow some pattern because its a computer program so therefore there has to be a rythem to it theres no way a computer can be random, that like goes against all the rules of computerdom dont it?

No one or nothing can predict random events, (although we know finding rares isn't completely random...) but this only means things like streaks are possible. Several times on all three PSO versions I played, I ended up finding a rare right after finding another one. Just yesterday I found two rares within seconds of each other: A Db's and a Blade Dance(I never said they were GOOD rares, and this was in hard.), but today, not a single thing. Last week I got two photon drops within about 3 seconds.
Not saying it's completely accurate, but something to think about...anyone else find things in twos?

hey wait does anyone remember that thread a while back on here that said if you kill 2 enemys at the sametime, like with a sword or with a partisen, so they die at like almost the exact second if one drops are rare the other drops an identical rare? i know the 2 guys that dropped the drops were killed at at least close to the same time, maybe a slightly off but no more then a second or 2. if thats true then all i gotta do now is find to hilditors, kill em both at the same exact time, and get em to drop a Syn thing. hey it can happen

No explanation needed, totally random. You had a killer streak of 4 drops, woot. Good job Guntz.
