Tournament: The 5th-ish Annual FKL Tournament

"Annual" meaning whenever somebody decides to hold one!

We've seen some pretty interesting characters in FKL this year. Homocidal maniacs, japanophiles, the personification of image hosting sites, ninjas, pirates, and hell even some zombie alien cyborg ninja pirate cowboys(I think). What better way for people to beat the snot out of eachother than on national TV infront of millions of viewers! Unfortunately we can't do that so we have the next best thing, typed up and ready for people to read. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

By now you people are probably foaming at the mouth wondering where to sign up, right? Well we're getting to that.

First I'd like to set up some ground rules.


#1 - God-modding is not allowed.

I'm going to be writing the battles anyway, how do you expect to do anything unworldly?

#2 - You are allowed one assisting character.

By this I mean Partner Machinery and animal side kicks. Another person(human, robot, alien, or furry) is out of the question.

#3 - Fleeing from your opponent is counted as an automatic forfeit.

While there is no specified boundaries on the arena, if you flat-out run away from your opponent you suck. Substitution jutsus or warping ala DBZ does not count as fleeing since its a defensive technique.

#4 - Interupting the flow of battle, while not immediately frowned upon, will count against you if it's prolonged.

We're trying to keep these things short and sweet. So if you feel like you need to do some Splinter Cell crap do it quick.

#5 - I'm not going out of my way to learn your style if you pick some strange anime or fighting game to base your character on.

If you say "I fight like ___ from ____ __" that means you are either a ninja type, a magician, or a berserker to me. With this said:

#6 - You may only register your own character.

#7 - Don't spam this thread with thousands of pictures.

This won't be enforced heavily, I'll just trust you guys to keep the thread 56k safe.

Small trip for a family member's birthday(following day being a trip to Six Flags since some of the invitees couldn't be available Monday). Fighting Style: up close and personal, prefers to beat the shit out of someone, causing plenty of pain before their death (if it's a robot then he doesn't bother) Won't hesitate to kill someone right off if it's required though.

Fighting Style Expanded: will switch forms to accomodate battle. ex. switching to a person with sligthly longer arms to have more reach than opponent; changing to a muscled person for more power or a lithe person for speed; etc. Changing takes no more than a second.

Wields his weapon more as a staff, at first aiming to only stab limbs until the final kill if he can afford to do so. The steel knuckles are reservered for fighting up close.

Personality: very, very sadistic. Will be calm during the start of a battle or when losing. However, at the sight of blood or the enemies pain he can't help but crack a smile. He often laughs happily and makes comments about the beauty of the gore when he makes heavy wounds. If he manages to cripple a person of all four limbs then he will take away all their weapons and proceed to mutilate them while alive until they die, commenting on how beautiful it all is. When he does this he likes to turn into a sexy girl with a seductive voice or the person he is killing.

He likes to keep the head of an opponent (if head is destroyed then a limb will do.) In the event of a robot he likes to disasemble it and sell the parts on e-bay.

He dislikes robots, as they don't feel pain, and will proceed to kill them as quickly and efficiently as possable. His final wish is to die a gory death, laughing his head off.

Misc. Equipment is not more weapons. That's where you put a shield if you carry one, MAGs, and tools like Traps.

Kibeth
Kibeth, or the "Walker", is a bell that controls movement. It is able to give and take away the freedom of movement from its target, or in careless hands its user.


Dyrim
Dyrim, or the "Speaker", is a musical bell that controls sound and voice. It is able to give a voice to those without one (including the Dead), or render one mute. Dyrim can also be used to improve mood, for its peal, when rung properly, can seem to those alive as a sweet, uplifting tune.


Belgaer
The "Thinker", Belgaer is a bell that manipulates memory. It can bring back forgotten memories erased from a spirit who has spent too long in Death, or erase memories altogether. If not used carefully, it may splinter the mind of the one who wields it. Necromancers will almost never use the former function, preferring to use the latter for offensive purposes.

Saraneth
The deepest bell, the "Binder" Saraneth is used by necromancers to bind the Dead to their will, and is the favored bell of the Abhorsens. It can be used to command spirits back into Death.(unending death)

Astarael
"The Sorrowful" or "Weeper", Astarael's tone is described as being high pitched and peaceful. Astarael is the most powerful and largest bell which will throw everyone who hears it, including the ringer, deep into Death. If rung properly with another bell, however, Astarael may not be deadly.

They're bears. Four of them. Grizzlies and Kodiaks, mostly.

1st round, 1st match

SABRIEL vs DEKUS SCRUB


The first two victims of the arena casually walk in. The green haired enigma known as Dekus Scrub plants his chainsaw into the ground and turns to face his necromancer opponent. Sabriel grins as her cat Mogget climbs down and scurries away. A small robot rises out of the ground and raises a tiny flag.

"Ready!"

The robot's tiny electronic voice seems to echo on forever as the two fighters stare deeply into eachother's souls.

"Go!"

In the blink of an eye the two dart into the shadows. Dekus enchants his chainsaw with a spell and slinks off in the direction Sabriel had left. He can barely make out her figure in the shadow of a crumbling wall when he hears a feint chime. Dekus' pace slows and his grip on chainsaw loosens. He comes to a stop as Sabriel emerges from the shadow holding the Ranna bell. She draws her sword and approaches Dekus as he dozes off. Aiming the point of the sword at Dekus' forehead, Sabriel prepares to make the finishing blow.

"Its not going to be that easy." Dekus declares. In one swift fluid motion he throws a spell at Sabriel's bells and swings his chainsaw at the necromancer.

Sabriel jumps back and reaches for another bell, "So it would seem. This should do the job though."

The necromancer flicks her bell, no sound escapes it. She shakes it, then again furiously. Nothing. Sabriel then turns her attention back to Dekus as he engulfs the both of them in a realm of darkness. The roar of the chainsaw dominates all other sound as blood and an occaional chunk of flesh flies out of the dark world.

Due to FCC regulations we won't show what's going on inside the dark world... but its pretty clear who has won.

He doesn't even have to win to say that though.

Just keep hitting the taunt button anytime during a match. Especially if someone is running away/hiding in a corner like a baby instead of fighting.

nah, there's plenty of stuff you can do. the guy's moves are on fire. He could punch someone and they'ed burst into flames. His punch is so powerful it could decapitate a head. He can grapple people and blow them up. There's tons of stuff captain Falcon can do. You just don't have the proper mind set to think of such things. He can also charge his punch at the edge of stage, the lock on stays in that direction, the Jigglypuff double jumps over him, he falls off the stage by punching that way.

My writing isn't that good but I at least know how to coreograph a decent fight. There will definately be more to his fight with Shliggy than his taunt, punch, and kick.
