If you're on the US, you can't take snapshots. That's why lolita said to get a capture card for the comp. =

You can take snapshots, you just can't get them off the mem-card, unless you have an import.
Hopefully ST will put up a link to let U.S. players submit their snapshots.

It's pretty sad. Hopefully there will be a bbs (place to get pics) on the US website someday. u.u

I'm just curious: I know you've taken a few snapshots in say, the C mode lobby, Lolita, right? So you use a video capture card for that? Does that mean you basically have your GCN hooked directly to your PC kind of like a VGA box, or somehow route the video between PC and TV? If that made any sense. o_O
Well, damn. I'm hoping they'll add an uploading feature to our homepage sometime, then... How much trouble would that be? Is it feasable at all?

I was just idly reading threads when I came across this one, and got an idea... This is going to be a bit technical, but bear with me. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
If you have your GC on broadband behind a router, then in theory your router should be running a DHCP server that the GC gets its network info from. Now, many routers also support DNS forwarding -- that is, rather than it giving the address of your ISP's DNS servers to the GC, the router itself acts as a DNS server. Now, I'm assuming that when the GC goes to web pages it resolves the hostname of the server through DNS. Depending on the router, it may be possible to modify it so that it resolves IPs based on a local list first -- for example, sega.com normally resolves to 64.95.120.131, but you could set up your router to resolve it to 10.1.1.1 instead (or any other IP, that's just an example).
With all that in mind, I think that the following should be possible: if you could find out the hostname of the server the GC connects to, you could modify the router to resolve it to a different IP address. If you point this IP address to your own web server, you could make it display any page you wanted it to, or even have a form that you could use to go to any page, *including* the Japanese homepage, and from there you would be able to upload screenshots.
This is all theory, though... And unfortunately, while I'm home over Christmas break from college, I don't have a spare network cable for my GC. >_< But if nobody else tries this out, I'll see if I can get it to work once I go back in January...

I have a ATI all in wonder pro 8500. my gamecube is plugged into the video in and it has its own video cap program. I also have a dazzle capture card but it doesn't display the video real time, nor does it have the video quality the ATI as.

Ahh, cool. Good ol' Radeon cards. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif I'm looking into getting a capture card myself, but most likely a standalone capture card rather than an all in one video card. I know quite a bit about vid cards, but when it comes to capture cards I'm pretty much lost. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif Anyone have any suggestions on decent cards? Opinions etc?
