question about pm devices

will any of the pm devices work, or will say, if my pm is 100strk, does it have to be a "strk" pm device?

? i dont quite understand what you are saying.
if your PM is a 410, then you will need to use a 411 or 412 pm device to turn it into a new PM, and it will keep the 100 strike.
You cant use, say, a 422 on a 410 though.

IIRC you can only change the one's digit of your PM.

410 -> 410, 411, 412
420 -> 420, 421, 422
430 -> 430, 431, 432
440 -> 440, 441, 442
450 -> 450, 451, 452

perfect,t hanks both of you, another question to toss in sorry, is it worth it to upgrade it all the way up from there? or they just more "different" than anything?

The PM's will use different weapons. Some also have different... stances? I dont know what to call them.
Example though, a 410 might use a sword and stays close to the player (you) while a 411 uses twin sabers and goes anywhere there is a team member (your friends)
I dont have a 410, so i dont know if those are the correct weapons and "stances" but thats just an example

Well each one has a bit of difference.

410, 420, 430, 440, 450 are basic PM models.
411, 421, 431, 441, 451 has Auto-regen (Me / Restore).
412, 422, 432, 442, 452 has SUV weapons.

I may be mixing it up, but I think that's the way it is. They each have different combat tendencies and weapon choices.
