Me and my friend were arguing and it looks like laia has human ears, is she human or beast?

yeah she's clearly a beast, but he's right about those ears. I'd be way more interested in making a beast if I could pick those ears. the shaggy animal style the other ears portray makes the race asthetically unappealing to me. and anyone who says her ears are normal for beasts you tell me what hacks you pulled to pick ones that are completely based off of skin color and not hair color. that alone says her ears are unique , but the fact that they are short, pointed back and a little up and are quite small in comparison to other beast ears as well...yeah those aren't beast ears.

All the 'major' NPC beasts do that. Tylor, Liina, Leo, Tonnio and now Laia... None of them have ears like PC beasts. They can't *all* be halflings... It bugs the hell out of me.

I wonder if the npc's racial designs differ to PC races cause one was an old design comcept. And ST decided to change it last minute. But didn't have enough time to change the online aspect of it. Kinda like when Ethan had a different hair cut originally. But ST decided to change it at one point before it's release.

Perhaps ppl like Laia just needed something unique about them? (like their own outfits aren't enough)...

From a design standpoint, it makes perfect sense why important NPC's look completely different than anyone else. it sets them apart and prevents confusing them with other characters. This is why both versions of ethan have clothes you cant get. They set him apart, and on a more subconsious level, make him seem more important in your mind.

But seriously, just look at one of her cut-in-chats, at the very least look at her face. I mean, really its not that hard to tell, shes got the beast nose and cleft lip. Not hard at all to tell.

Of course, Laia doesn't have a proper voice actor yet either ... She has the same combat voice typeas Lou if I recall correctly--but my point still stands! Her voice doesn't have Lou's CAST doppler voice.

I've mentioned the theory that Laia, Leo, Tonnio, and Liina are half Newman or human and half Beast months ago, many many times over. I'm shocked people have only figured out and mentioned this now.

Of course, it's entirely possible that there is just another kind of ear that full Beasts have, and there just isn't that option when we create our own. (I'd love to have those kinds of ears myself, personally.)
