Nani, Rena, or Sord, can ya clear something up for me?

In Higurashi no Naku Koro ni theres Shion and Mion right? I was confused by a statement that they switched places when they wre young... er ill just put the wiki article and one of you 3 can hopefully clear it up.

Mion-Right before tattooing the symbol of oni, which is reserved for the older sister, she was mistakenly identified as the older sister which means that she was actually born as Shion Sonozaki, the younger sister. Since then, she switched her identiy of Shion with Mion, the older sister

Shion-Shion is Mion's identical twin sister, who currently resides in Okinomiya. In spite of their different personalities, she and Mion often switch places, and it can be difficult to distinguish between them. Their first switch took place when they were little. So is it saying that Shion is really mion and mion is really shion? That article cannot get any more confusing >.<

As far as I noticed in the series, the tatoo going on the wrong sister is not mentioned, and the tatoo itself is only breifly mentioned a couple time. Most likely it's either in the two remaining story arcs that haven't been shown yet or it's talked about in one of the games but not brought up in the anime.

I'm assuming you are on the 2nd arc... well there is a later chapter that explains what really happens.. Like 4th or 5th arc or something.

Yeah I know it's confusing, but this anime is part mystery.
