View Full Version : Beast race/gender name?

I realize that this is entirely superfluous to the game, but I am still intruiged by it.

Anywho, back in PSO one thing that I really loved was the fact that by simply reading one name, you could figure out exactly what gender, race, and class the character was. I.E. A HUnewhearl was a female newman Hunter, or a RAcast was a male CAST ranger. I sort of wish that they wouldve stuck with that system instead of changing it on peoples information to the generic "Fighgunner H Male." Just isnt as interesting.

But I digress. Was it ever stated any where what the beast versions of the race names were? If not, what do you all think they are?

This is totally pointless but i guess they would be "beaster" and "beastsel" or something.

And is there anything proving this? Like I said, I realize that its totally pointless, Id just like to know. It must be REALLY old news for me to have missed it since Ive been reading any information I could about PSU on this forum ever since 2004.

I'm not lazy to where I have to use these, but I didn't play PSO... so I've always used:

HU RA FO FF FiG FG GT FT WT and PT for classes

F or M for genders

and BE CA NE and HM for races

*shrug* WTFBE XD XD XD

Like I said, I barely use that.

No. Some moron thought it sounded good, and it stuck for some reason.

Thank you PJ, I didnt believe those 2 myself because they simply didnt sound right. I mean, the class/race names in PSO actually sounded good, they rolled off your tounge nicely. Beast and beaseal do not.

P.S. Please dont take this thread as me wanting PSO back, far from it. I feel people should let PSO die out. I was simply curious, thats all.

Well, I guess to complete your point, and I guess you got it already, but they didn't make any names for male/female beasts in that sense.

How do they sound any worse than cast and caseal?

All the suggested PSO-ified versions of M Beast and F Beast sound stupid, but it's way better than fur and furl. Those sound downright retarded.

I originally thought some of the PSO names were nice, like RAcast and HUmar and the basic ones. However, I thought things like HUnewearl and FOnewman sounded pretty stupid. I just don't mind them so much anymore because I've spent years looking at them.

makes me think, Who in their Multimedia think-tank came up with the names/text? @.@;;

as for best race, not sure. its a team-pwnage type game.
Beast makes for best melee
CAST makes best Protrancer for the Trap ownage, poor Mental def
Neuman superior Teachers & evasion, poor HP & Melee Def
Human, best Hybrid adapting ownage, overall balanced, no weakness

Fur, Furl?

Ew...

I've always just thrown an L at the end for female beasts, but beast/beseal sound reasonably good to me.

That is unless someone thinks of a better one.

Edit: Gotta' learn proper word order, I guess. >.>;

I always called them Beast and Beaseal, as reference to CAST and Caseal. Fur and Furl really didn't sit well with me. I'm not surprised if people think Beaseal sounds stupid, no one knows what they're really called.

Also, note, I don't pronounce it Buh-seel, but rather, Bee-see-uhl. Same with Caseal, where it's Kay-see-uhl.
