I'm sorry but I just posted this in Box or cube. you decide. But figured, it was more a topic then a reply.

The X-box's harddrive is capable of much more than you think.
-Save games without a memory card.
-Rip your own tunes, use your cd's to download all your fave music onto your harddrive.
-Enables first of it's kind effects, i.e, Blinx the time sweeper.

Maybe you can even put all your tunes onto PSO, cruise around Ragol listning to some Metallica, or Eminem or anything your heart desires. Instead of the old Ragol music. Maybe it will be included online, to bring your freinds into your room, and they can listen to your tunes, playing off your system.

The Downloads section is even better, not only will you be able to download quests, items, spells, new mags, from X-Box live. but maybe even grab a new character off the server or even a new level, the download will likely only take around 5 seconds or so, it goes right onto your harddrive. Right as of now, they are putting these things to the test, they have already created some new levels and Mechs on MechAssualt to be downloaded at will, these will be free, but Microsoft will likely add a small price on some later developments. Would you pay 2 or 3 bucks to have another PSO character? I certainly would. How about a new level? Okay sure, here download this one.
I have yet to buy a Gamecube version becuase of a few things. In my town, it is very hard to find everything I need for online play if I chose Gamecube, it has been selling great lately but no accessories as of yet. I will get online with Gamecube eventually, but untill then I am always online with XBL.

Thank you for your time Loyal PSO fans.

hm ok...
so far this is wishful thinking...
reminding myself to crazy taxi 3 which doesnt even supports playing own music from the harddrive i dont really think about that will be avaiallable for pso... but then again... noone knows until microsoft or sega'll share some news with us.

*has a tea now*

I never thought of it before really, but then again why is it taking so long, sure the game is immense, but being the tycoons they are they can pump out games like nothing. maybe they built it from the ground up to play music.

While using custom music in PSO would be interesting, it just doesn't seem like a fit for PSO. It's a game where there's certain music tied to different elements of the game. (The lobby, Pioneer 2, the levels, the bosses.) Custom soundtracks work good in some games, but to me, it just doesn't sound like something that'd work that well for PSO. I know Sega GT 2002 supports custom soundtracks, and it really works fine for racing games.

As for the downloadable content, I hope they do have much of the stuff that you mentioned. I'm not sure how it works to download an item, and then go online where some people have that item downloaded and some don't... Because if player A has downloaded a new character class, but player B hasn't, what happens when players A and B play together online? Does player B still see this new character?

I'm also waiting for (at least trying to) the Xbox version.

sega didn't even put in the soundtrack option for JSRF... so i sincerely doubt we'd see it happen for PSO..

although hopefully the downloaded quests will be lengthy in size due to the broadband only situation

Well, I'd say you would get the downloadable content right when you start the game. It's kinda like the Patch Server on RO, you HAVE to get them before you can play.

If that were the case, would they still charge for them? I'm sure some people would be in an uproar if there were required payments at odd intervals whenever they have new content. Even if it's only a few bucks. But it would certainly be better than having a Hunter's License fee in addition to Xbox Live costs. (Though I don't want to bring up that debate again.)

i remember playing with the yellow named ver2 people when i was still on ver 1. it is kinda strange to see a humar with a pole or a fonewm insta-killing a belra with a handgun. this pertains to the previous comment about player 1 having an item not downloaded by player 2.

the idea of new characters works if they are forced downloads. imagine if hunewm translates to hucast on a system thet doesnt have that character downloaded. they will seem like a hucast using zonde and resta. those poeple who at some point didnt have version 2 on dreamcast know what i mean.

and as far as listening to someone else's music, what if you like static x, and i like say.... ween?

its already been stated that on PSOX you can store up to 12 chars on your Harddrive. And if PSOX supports 4 player split screen in offline mode, you will need a mem card to take your char down to your friends house to play on his/her xbox.

as far as downloadable content. the xbox was MADE for DLC, broaband WITH and HD! Given Sonic Teams track record, dont expect them to take advantage of it, they rarely did on the DC, and so far they havent on the GC, maybe Micro$oft and flash some loot in ST's face and get them off their lazy asses!

Yuji Naka himself said that the sequel to PSO would require a harddrive and broaband connection...we have the xbox so what is Naka waiting for?

PC support. I heard the XBox wasn't doing so hot in Japan, so I doubt Sega would make a HUGE sequel move over to it. More likely take it into a PC direction where lots of Japanese people have those...

I'd hate to see an entire sequel on the Xbox. It'd be a waste you know... They'd have to do a split release like PC and Xbox or something...

I would love to see a PC version of PSO in the US. Think about what could be included:

An "on-the-fly" translation system that wouldn't need pre-made phrases.

The ability to download more pre-made phrases(if the on-the-fly system didn't happen).

Downloadable levels, characters, and maybe even a level editor.

More MMOG-like aspects(Lobbies could be more like the game itself, with huge levels that could be used to level up).

Exportable information(for example, you could have the game export your Guild Card list, chat log, stats, and other info to a database).

Higher resolutions and higher-quality textures(PSO at 1024x768 with high-resolution textures).

More shortcuts(For example, the Insert,Home,PgUp,Delete,End, and PgDn keys could be be used for different menus).
