i was doing a labs S2 mission and i am doing fine not dying keeping everyone healed then i get a rare (vestaline) and @s01Bark! which means my face popped up with a open mouth smile(my char. name is wolf) all of a sudden the leader starts freaking out at me for being a beast fortetecher and how"i suck at tech"i tell him there are two cast FT and then he yells at me again saying "wow i cant beleive you would make fun of a cast fortetecher" and then booted me. Do you think that is right? The only reason i brought up the cast fortetecher thing is they have worse tech then me not that i am against that but i was just pointing it out.

I dont think I ever booted anyone from a game.

Only times if someone was AFK too long or If they complained about switching drops to Random and/or complaining about getting crappy or no drops at all. Or if someone kept spamming jibberish or selling junk

I was in a party about 4 months ago doing Dual Sentinal, and there were 2 Casts that kept bitching and complaining about drops. They had to be 14yo too and totally acted like it. This Force I hung out with frequently go so fed up with their nonsense that she activated the light and transported the whole party to the Waterfall Lobby and she said oops, and left the party

OMG did they totally freak out cursing and screaming..lol That was a hella funny moment

I remember one time when I was partying with PJ and 2 other friends, and these 2 random guys showed up. I had rares on order and this guy got a [b] gourmet cake, and he just started to flip out like crazy, being all "who the **** picked up that ****ing cake, ****! asdfjkl;asdfkl;" Too bad he left before I had the chance to let him out of the party by my will and boot him. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
But yeah, this other time, I was w/ DonRoyale, and someone died without a scape, and some other random person started being all bitchy, flipped out, and started cursing at the person who died. I was the leader, and unlike most people who would boot that person who died, I decided to boot that person who was cursing and ranting at the person who died.

I play a female beast Guntecher, lowest ATA possible, and rather bad TP... so you can imagine. But they don't realize that the reverser that saved them while they were frozen, that SE4 virus on bigger monsters, and the card shots that outdamage them... are from me.

Luckily I don't really join random parties much, so I never had much problem with it... only a few select cases.

Hey dude. I played with you today. Rather than buff or reverser you only used offsensive techs and the occasional heal. I played a wartecher, and spent most of my time trying to keep the part buffed, the enemies debuffed, and healing. Would have loved you to share some of the responsibility.

I don't recall you being booted from the group I was running with, but if I had to read between the line, it's possible you got the boot for that.

and yet that *still* does not make it right.

I double-died today (megids-revive-megids), and got the boot from a party that thought I did not bring scapes. unfair stuff happens all the time.

Only time I boot is if someone joins just as we're getting rare enemies.

Hell.. I had a complete asshat in my party once at CB.. He did nothing but bother my members then insist on trading his, what was it again..., 22% light del jagnus..? for my halp serafi.
Then he and a member got into a "your momma" fit for a bit and it ended with an x-box live comment saying this "might as well have been XBL"
I insisted on a respectable attitude towards my members and that we all acted mature... he complied until the end of the mission which he left with a crude 14yo comeback comment towards the one member.

Needless to say, I found it amusing.. but I did wish I had followed through with my idea to boot him just before deragan was gonna die...

Regardless... I maintained the respectable approach of enforcing a certain level of maturity in the party.
(meanwhile me and a friend were laughing our asses off over PM's XD)

But yeah.. I never boot anyone for playing a class/race they want. All I ask is that they actually participate, and that they are trying.
People who boot others for being an imperfect class combo are just trying to cover up for their own weakness by trying to draw attention to someone who -seems- weaker..

Lies! I've met a cast fT that can keep up with a Newman fT. It just requires more work and a good knowledge of what techs are effective. Diga and foie are the staples of Cast fT cause of the extreme high dmg modifier. And of course the whole S rank bows and cards/lvl 30 bullet of fT only makes the class a sweeter deal.

I am almost never a party leader with randoms, but when I am, I only boot people for extreme jackassery. I won't even boot people for being terrible players unless I repeatedly ask them to start/stop doing something and they refuse to listen. My favorite is when a fighter joins one of my buffing parties and I ask them what they plan on doing since this is y'know...a buffing party. If they don't answer and start walking towards the exit...BOOT!

I alomst got booted from a party yesturday for being a newman PT. I was looking for MP runs in the new timed mission. First thing out of the leaders mouth after I was invited was "oh god a PT" and basicly anything that followed for the rest of the mission was comments about me being a noob and phailing the group in the end....

Funny thing is...the leader is who failed us....A Beast FF....

I've been bitched out by my friend's friend for being a Beast Fortetecher. It was an amusing argument, because his opinion was that all races must be specific types. I also brought up my Human Fighgunner, and his personal opinion was that they were "Second-class warriors", and that I would be better as a Fortefighter.

I ended up booting HIM because we offered to just end the conversation and go on with the mission, but he insisted on continuing. "Only if you admit that Fortefighter is the superior warrior class", which I said is true, but it doesn't make it the best class in the game.

I've had so many types arguments it's not even funny. Sometimes I go the complete opposite of what I'm "supposed to be".

They let us choose types and race seperately, so I chose to take advantage of that fact. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Oh but if the guys who speak the american dialect of english didn't help out during WWII...you'd be speaking with a german accent. =p

There's no need making smart alec jokes about whose english is the correct one. It just results in ugly arguments no one wants to be a part of.

Akaimizu
Jul 5, 2007, 10:20 AM
No need to go there. There are people of various dialects on the 360, and they're doing just fine. Besides, it isn't like the TV and/or life isn't exposing people to various dialects, either. Of course, there are some exceptions where people live in parts where everybody is similar.

Still, any regular english dialect shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. If people can understand all the slang and hybrids formed within their own country, they should have it easier with the more pure versions of the dialect. Something America is not devoid of, either. Considering we got southern, northern, Jersey, New York, Urban slang, Rastafarian, Surfer, Balmore(Baltimore)/Dundalk(yes two very different native dialects yet in the same city for darn sake), Hawaii also tends to have a dialect that mixes english with their own. Not to mention, about a ton of other commonplace mixed dialects in every metropolitan area.

bottom line is the player is paying $10 (or whatever) a month and is entitled by doing so (for better or worse) to play however they want to. you were entitled to pick whatever class/job you want, and the group leader was entitled to boot you for whatever reason. some people are just stupid with the choices they make, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to make them. so don't wet your pants over it, just move on and play with the next group of people that would be happy to have any additional help in their party.

hey I remember you,we ran some seabed together.

but yeah, people tend to be doosh bags when it comes to swallowing the fact its a damn game and people can play it how they want.IMO,you did fine at being the techer in the party, though you didnt really buff till we asked you to,but that's all good.whoever it was, fuck him,and let him deal with the fact that hes a loser who cant swallow that people can play however they want.it's his problem.sucks that you got kicked, but whatever.it happens.people are doosh bags.

Wow. ppl STILL boot others for wrong race/class combos?
Sheesh. You'd think ppl would wisen up by now.

I've been fortunate enough to not gotten booted as a FOcaseal. And have seen several other FOcasts around as well. We help each other as a team and haven't seen any problems there.

Hell, I've often wondered if I've should of made a best FT instead since they still have more HP for debuff'n compared to casts.

I wouldn't recommend a FOcast in general in timed missions tho.
People's attitudes just surprise me at times...

And ppl making fun of other's accents? But that's just another wonderful perk with the mics you 360 folks get!
Maybe most take the internet for granted, or I'm easily amused. But it still amazes me that I'm actually playing an ACTION RPG with ppl accross the GLOBE, AT the very same moment I'm playing! We're both enjoying the game together, chatting it up, hearing our different dialects, sharing our bit of cultural curiosities, etc. And that just reminds me how small our world really is. How great is that?
That's one of the perks I get out of PSO/PSU. (rather than menu/round based online rpg's).
And small minded ppl who makes remarks about other ppl's "funny" dialects should really get out more. Americans like them just makes us all look bad.
Now's NOT the time to stretch our ego's any further folks.

one reason i dont play with other strangers. I dont like to deal with negative people that kick others out of the game because they dont like you. A lot of online people are rude by the fact that they think they can get away with it or just plain retarded and want to pick a fight. Some people disgust me even now especially online, PSU, and this forum as well. Its online...some people just doesnt have any manners or do they even care. Its ok, I play by myself or with people i know that wont cause troubles. So, it is best not playing with strangers. If you do, be mindful of that person's attitude. You can almost tell if that person is good or bad to play with through his/her comments, the way they talk, obsessive cursing, and maybe even the name of his/her character's name.
Gotta love online sometime. >_>
Well, this are just my thoughts, so I hope they will keep you in mind of the online community through my experience. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, the ATA boost from FortGunner makes up for the beasts low ATA.

Definatly. Even as a beast Fighgunner, I find my Deathmakers are my "fall-back"weapon for soloing.

Hmmm... the only time I've been booted was during a random Unsafe Passage S run. There were 3 of us, and the party leader was the highest level (by about 10 levels). That doesn't mean the rest of us were slacking, though. Anyway... the Leader had rares set to "Give Finder"... and he made sure that he was ALWAYS the finder.

So... after about 5 rares in a row going to the leader, the other guy managed to grab a Kersaline. The leader started to rant about us stealing his "Reds" (thank god I play PC, or it could have been an earful). And then he boots the other guy & warns me about what will happen if I grab a rare.

Now... I'm a smartass at heart, so I decide do a thought bubble saying "It's a good thing that DelJagnus Board wasn't Red http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif". He lost it & booted me... and I ended up back in Clyez laughing about it with the other guy.

As far as the amount of jerks on the servers... there are plenty, but there are just as many cool ppl. Don't let the asswipes get you so jaded that you lose your joy in the game... that's the only way they truly win.

I refuse to understand that mentality.

As every1 that knows me here or in game knows how I feel. This is a team based game. As long as you work 2gether and play off each others strengths to guard each others weaknesses, race class combos mean absolutely nothing!!

This is one reason why I party with you theory...when you are on what they hell have you been doing?

I've been doing some major construction on my house so I've been working two full time jobs basically. Not enough room for a third at the moment. lol Now that all the dust is settling around here
I find time to play now and again, so we'll party up soon I bet.

See now I just throw someone's sheer stupidity in their face. It's a game, play it how you want and respect other people's choices when it comes to THEIR character. To be honest I despise the "cookie cutter" mentality that develops in any online RPG. Taking said WoW example. I use specs that fit my play style. Funny enough my non-standardized spec and gear choices end up being a good portion of the party's backbone in instances and lead to insane amounts of Honor Kills in Battlegrounds. Why? It's not because said choices are better, its the fact the character is tailored to me rather than me trying to tailor myself to the character.

Same goes for FFXI. Easiest example is my DRK. DRK undoubtedly has the highest physical damage potential of any job in FFXI, (sorry RNG but I've never seen sidewinder or slug shot even come close to the 3800 damage I dumped on Kirin with Spiral Hell. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif) Now DRK atleast on my server is popular on HNM's due to the very high weapon skill damage potential but people rarely want to exp with them saying it will be a drag or hinderance to the party because the healer would have to use too much MP on them. Analysis as a DRK. Player skill needed to pace hate buildup. Meaning damage output directly related to hate management ability of the tank. (Which is why I lvl DRK with a friend who plays PLD, since NIN at end game lvls think they're lolDD when that parser says I'm doing 47% of the party's total damage per battle. .. So maybe I'm geared better than most the server I play on... meh...)

Then we come to PSU, now you have these, X race cant do Y class for crap, Your weapons aren't all grinded +10, you don't have a mic, etc...

Some of the issues are more than just character related. WHY do some people think you need voice chat to work as a group? FFXI I group with JP players 80% of the time. We hardly even text chat let alone voice chat in party. But we're organized to the point where I can get 8 1/2 merits in 1 outing.

Meh maybe I'm ranting a bit, anyway long story short, people like to complain, or make issues or problems over stupid things that don't even matter, and kids nowadays aren't spanked enough when they're little for misbehaving...

I don't get booted. Typically I hate the people in the party before they hate me and I just leave. You can tell pretty quickly which parties are going to be major tards and which are just having some fun. I play the game purely for fun. I joke around CONSTANTLY, people that can't deal with it, I don't enjoy playing with.

Khaleb-Hah....I've run into people like that...one of my funniest moments with a guy like that was with a guy named Guyver...(I know a cool guyver so if you see one hanging around me he's not the one in this story). It was during a CB S2 run, and like your guy, he was picking up every red item there was...even the scape doll boards! XD

Well anyway I end up grabbing a junaline that had dropped right in front of me. The next line out of him was "Ho~! gib me my juna or I boot your bit*h~ ass~!" I walked up to him within arms distance and told him "This is how I deal with threats" (with the deep in thought cut in) then yanked out one of my pistols and readied it...since he was slightly shorter then Sara, it actualy looked like it was aimed between his eyes. I got a few lols out of everyone else and found myself looking for a new group. XD That had to be one of my best back talk lines yet!

I was playing in Her Secret Mission yesterday, and the party leader mentioned which directions we should go. I'm familiar with left best, so he told me and another charcter to go left. Well, the guy that was supposed to be with me went his direction, and he got yelled at for it. He just simply gave him a ":)" and it didn't bother me, I did okay by myself and did what I was supposed to do. We S ranked the mission, and the "wrong way" fellow and I got booted. He gave him another ":p" and went his merry way. I asked him simply, "so um...I take it you're done.?" He said, "no got people coming. People that KNOW how to play." I just answered, "ahhh cool...not that I care anyway." I walked right up to him, looked right at his face, and b-listed his ass. Ah, sometimes pwnage is so cool. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I had some prick join a group a couple days ago for Her Secret Mission. This guy was a LV 40 fortefighter with nothing but an ice jitseen and B rank pistol with an ice bullet on it. I think I was lv 36 at the time and the other 2 party members in the high 20's low 30's. This guy did nothing but complain about us moving too slow, not playing the game right, and supposedly sucking. Funny he was the highest lvl there and did about half everyone else's damage, yet we still S ranked with 4:30 to spare. Had a new pt leader that didn't know about abandoning the mission to skip the CS so he complains about that, then as soon as we hit the guardian branch he says "you guys suck, bye."

It's ok, I b-listed him and told everyone around the counter to check his gear before inviting him...

3 hours later, he was still asking for a C or B rank run... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
