Does that count the millions of Hondas built in the US (http://www.hondanews.com/categories/1094/releases/192)? Or how about the millions of Toyotas (http://www.toyota.com/about/news/manufacturing/2006/02/01-1-FifteenMillion.html) that have been built in the United States (http://www.toyota.com/about/operations/manufacturing/index.html)? They're classified as domestic products as most of the parts and the actual production both occur here in the United States, predominantly in Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Actually, GM has been slashing a ton of workers here in Ohio, while Honda has been hiring a ton (likely the same ones that were fired by GM). Japanese owned companies building cars in North America are doing better than Ford and GM by and far. Sure I love the new Mustangs, but damned if those Civics and Camrys aren't excellent, practical, vehicles.

My parents actually have a CR-V that was built here in East Liberty, Ohio and it's an excellent vehicle. The last domestic vehicle they had was a Pontiac Bonneville which was traded in for a Honda Odyssey although I'm using their Dodge Dakota from before Chrysler was bought out by Daimler-Benz.

Even more proof they run things. But yes, Toyota and them build in US and Ford build in Mexico
