Rods or wands?

That being said, including a "both" option to an "either/or" question is absurd.

If I had to choose one over the other, I would pick rods over wands.

Honestly I prefer Rods just for the extra slots and power.

Wands are a lot faster but hold less and have lower tech. But I don't use any guns of kikamis whatsoever...yet

Rods. I don't have to keep as many around to have all my TECHNICs available to me. Plus the PP and TP bonus is handy. ^-^

I prefer wands for the faster casting speed, also, since I'm on PS2, they load faster than rods.

Rods are still useful, there's no arguing that they aren't, I just prefer to use wands for my attack techniques so I can get out of the way before I get blasted by five or six bartas/megids.

I prefer wands just due to the fact that I like to solo and that brief second between a wand cast and a rod cast can mean my death. But I still keep a couple of rods just in case.

Thing is, if you're fighting a monster with 4000 HP, radiga does:

1200 with Rods
1100 with Wands

So no matter what happens, it'll die in 4 hits so I'd rather use wands cause they cast faster >_>

Rods. Wands I use for bosses and big ugly things. Both hybrid FOs get fucked in different ways currently, so Wands aren't that great on them either. (Yay, I lose half my palette to Wands on my WT! Yay, I have plenty of room for them on my GT paired with Crossbows but my techs cap at L10! Thank god for AoI un-breaking classes. My WT is going to FT for now because I hate the palette juggling so much.)

Wands for slower spells. (Gi/Ra) and resta/reverser so the heals can be there in time

Rods for quicker spells or those that don't rely on speed (basic, Dam, Nos) Of course, since I'm on PS2.. I always keep resta on my rod in case I can't get to my wand in time.

Definitely not both because for a person on PS2, switching weapon types in the midst of battle requires (unnecessary) loading. Wands for speed to reduce lag.

wands are useless. half the time you don't even need the correct element, so why not have them all on a few rods. it's too much trouble for % bonuses to have to lag to another wand to resta so i keep it on most except my buff/debuff rods.

fortetechers use wands because
a. they're noticibly faster and
b. combination with throwing cards

good Ft's use throwing cards and make use of both wand and rods for their individual strengths. my palette is something like this:

howrod(4) barta, dambarta, rabarta, gibarta(mostly for dambarta use)
Roksari(2) ice bullet
Howrod(4) shifta, deband, zodial, retier( buffing)
Majimara(6) diga/resta Mira-Kikami(5) ice bullet
Majimara(6) rabarta/resta Mira-Kikami(5) ice bullet
Majimara(6) foie/resta Mira-Kikami(5) fire bullet

obviously certain missions require tweaking and as such i have another Howrod(4) in my inventory

Both. The TP difference isn't really all that much--the real advantages of rods over wands is longer battery life and the increased tech-linking capacity. I usually use rods because I can put two attack techs or debuffs on the first two slots and Resta/Reverser on the second two; I habitually do this with every rod except my buffstick.

Then again, I'm a force that makes a big deal of supporting. If you're a less-supportive force, wands will probably give you a better damage output over time. In particular, they're great for low-cost techs like Foie and Diga; not always the best for higher-cost ones like, say, Nosdiga (though if you don't mind popping extra Photon Charges, wands may still be better for you).

Dont really care that much but rods can hold four. Not to mention the fact that its about a 3 to 4 rate of fastness between them.
