View Full Version : PSU-PC: GameGuard slowdown - something I noticed.

Im sure many people might have experienced slowdowns on Phantasy Star Universe PC version. Interestingly enough I've traced down the slowdown to gameguard and when it doesn't properly load. When you start PSU, and select story or network, gameguard is supposed to start up and check for updates, then run in the background...

However sometimes Gameguard doesn't load properly (you will notice that the GG icon on the taskbar is missing) and causes a high load on your CPU. You will notice the slowdown while playing PSU. If this happens, just restart PSU to restart gameguard and if you see the gg icon below then it should be fine.

Though Im not sure if it applies to everyone but its worth a try lol

Nah, I think this reaches its target audience, here.

This happened once or twice with me, and I'd wondered what it was.
That makes sense (at least in my case), as I've had similar issues with other games that use GG. Thanks.

Use Autogear as well, and turn GG cpu usage to a minimal ;P

Better yet, how about not playing Mr moderator and let them worry about what's better suited for the place?
