Are you talking about where time passes in ticks? I think PSU already does that; if only to handle PP regen and HP recovery from extra slots.

when u played pso. in the bottom portion of the screen it says this "Internet time @ ### beats" it was a universal tiem system that hey used in the old game.

That universal time system failed so hard, no one ever used it, why bring it back?

It's not an ability, so you may want to change the topic title to say "Bring back the Beat system?"

The only use that system ever had was for weapons that relied on it for certain things, like heaven punisher and a few other weapons. It was meant to work around the obstacle of time zones, but as stated before, no one ever used it.

This begs the question: Why? What purpose would it serve?

6 of one, half-dozen of another...
You'd STILL have to convert, only from your time zone into BEAT time. For instance, 6PM tonight will be (calculates) 0752 beat time.....or whatever! But a calculation still must be made!
I say keep it how it is so the kids can learn a real-world skill!!

Seeing as how people can't convert Pacific to Eastern time anyway without a strategy guide, it's not like beat time conversion would be that much harder http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
But back to the original poster... why bring it back? It was near useless in PSO anyway.

The only time BEAT time mattered was when people used their duped Heaven's Punishers at the right moments. Heh.

The whole point of beat time is so that you DON'T have to do any converting. If its 752 where u are it's 752 where everyone is. That's why they invented it, it's universal.
Borderline pointless, but universal.

I love how peeps are all dead set against it, when it'd just chill at the bottom of the screen and be ignored anyway. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

Not that I know much of how Beats worked (aside from being totally different from our ordinary clocks) ... but when I think about it, the PSO Beat system almost seems like a test bed for Metric Time (http://zapatopi.net/metrictime/) and how people would react to such a change.

um I did use it. the holy ray worked for 200 hundred beats. on the even numbers. also rares would drop on certain beats too. I know people will disagree with that one. I liked the beat system I say bring it back

*sigh* Yes, but you'd still have to convert, only you have to convert REAL time into BEAT time. It was a joke....
