View Full Version : Map Changes...

after the servers got back Online, I did a run of Desert Terror S2 and noticed teh map to be quite different.

Desert terror S2 that was supposed to be ran in 40-45 mins can now be completed in under 20mins or less.

Less Mobs, lower damage, fewer areas...etc.
I guess This "Rebalancing" will make levelling a bit harder...maybe

Has anyone tried the other maps yet? Has anyone noticed other changes as well?

Wasn't the game easy enough? -.-

Have the rewards changed?

The update page on the official site is very unhelpful about listing what the actual changes are. I just did some Valley of Carnage and didn't notice any differences. So if you do notice any "changes", could you list them in this thread?

Ack, I knew this was going to happen. So the 40k exp in one run for desert terror s2 is down the drain.

What if it's two 20k exp runs in the same time?

I want to see what they did to Tunnel S2, I hope they set it back so you can skip every group that doesn't appear in front of a locked door or drop a key.

EDIT: is rappy/jaggo hunting all messed up by these changes? I bet it is.

I just ran VoC a couple times, and I noticed on one map there were far more Lapucha spawns. In fact, some of them even replaced the Kogs that used to be so plentiful. There was also a heavy Vanda map for the left turn variation, and it started out with 2 Vandas + 3 Vandas instead of the usual 4 Vandas.

EDIT:
There are actual trees to cut down on System Defense! More wood! Hooray!

And the large rock formations drop hard metals. This is quite interesting...

=$ That they would make such drastic changes really surprises me.

Wow nice to see some changing for the better on moatoob. Maybe if this rebalencing will have some more people going over to it instead of the usually parum spam that there always is. I might have to go back and reruns some of the missions they changed. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I really wish they wouldn't have changed the spawns. >_<

At least decrease the number of Vanda, not replace them with useless Naval. Now my Desta hunt is all screwed up.

Libram hard metals= armor materials correct?

When I was playing Desert Goliath earlier, I noticed only a few Grinna Bete C's in the variation I was playing.

Correct. You now have a viable source to farm armor material for Tenora armors instead of having to buy them from the store.

They're replaced a few kamatoze in EP with King Ageetas. No big deal, both are super easy to kill as a Fortefighter. Wish they had taken out the Tengohg instead.

Sweet I was hoping one of the changes was more meta- drops. They drop from those big cresent shaped rocks now?

I've definitely noticed changes in some missions. Some blocks are smaller with the same ratio of enemies, equaling less walking but same overall exp.
The rebalancing seems to have also effected the overall difficulty. I've already noticed some definite changes, like elemental attacks not raping you unless cast by a specific or rare monster.

So all this "rebalancing" is just making missions easier, eh? Actually sounds kind of lousy to me.

So, less chance of getting rare items now?

In this one spawn of System Defense, at least, there's this rock wall blocking some containers. You can break down the wall using goggles and they drop meta materials.

And man, did they go breakable tree crazy in the desert o.O Don't have to walk 5 miles to get some lone containers either. Plus new enemy spawns ;x

Yeah, I figured the re-balancing of the missions were going to make them more easier, but I
really didn't predict that they were going to remove things and such. That was pretty whompy.

I just finished a solo DT S2 and got 3 metaresins from large rocks, 1 mot walna from a tree and finished it in about 1 hour. Before the change my average time soloing was around 1:40 not skipping any monsters. While its nice to have a spawn set without any worms I'm not too pleased about the buffed vandas that I can't stick w/ SE from my guns. I guess they couldn't make it too easy for rangers. Dimma was slow as hell though compared to before too.

Yep, and the runs are faster now also.

13 Tengohgs in the whole of Demons Above. That seems less than normal? Most were replaced with spawns of Ageeta with a Leader one.

Also, definately no Kamatoze in Moonlight Beast anymore. Interesting map changes mind. I'm unsure if 13 Gohgs was less than normal, but it seemed a lot faster running DA S this evening than it normally does, and it wasn't caked in 3x Tengohg spawns. Can only be a good thing..

Im not entirely sure about map changes, but i saw a Rappy Spawn for the first time in my life today in some Neudaiz mission and snagged like 3 rappy feathers. (it was 2 of us, joy)

Dunno if its significant though.

i think this is a bad idea because rebalancing makes things easy and moatoob is supposed to be the bad ass panet, you know the hard one the one that gives exp come on SEGA!

I was doing some Jaggo hunts and I can say that they didn't make all of the Moatoob missions easier. System Defense has this variation with a bunch of buffed Vanda and some Bil De Vears and it was kind of annoying soloing it in S. I think they made changes for people who hunt for rare spawn maps, I guess to keep us from getting more valuable items. I mean, none of the map variations on Psupedia even exist anymore (at least not entirely).

Katy
Jul 14, 2007, 11:30 PM
Yup I just went to Mine Defense and the first spawn I got was 4 Jishigara on a B-? map not listed on psupedia. Looks like some or all maps will have to be redone. Kinda sucks having 3 luck with no idea which maps are still rare or not. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I'm having a blast with these changed maps. Apparently, there's a map in Desert Terror with only rats (easy to kill, and great for PA leveling) and pigs (they drop skela). So, I can concentrate on hunting the best looking aquatic weapon currently out.
