actually, typing all caps here isn't that big a deal. technically it's doesn't disrupt the thread. if anything, the complainers do it even more with their abundance of off topic complaints about caps. Proper capitilization is not actually needed for reading english. It's still perfectly legible. People just have problems because A.) they aren't used to it, and B.) because of how they percieve it. Those aren't exactly the best reasons not to like something, and are inherently flawed by human nature. Even I find it annoying, but because of this a rarely complain when people do it.

but seeing something as moronic is merely because of your own perceptions. If the you grew up in a world where most letters were all caps and the first letter was lower case, you would find it annoying when someone typed in all lower case. Most people don't think like this though, or if they do don't really act on it. The main argument against such things is that we don't live in a world where it happens, and thus we shouldn't percieve it as such. But if that were the case on everything, then humanity would remain in a static state and never really think outside the box. It depends on what your philosophy is, should you live by human perception or live by more sound logic? I try and go by logic most of the time, but I can't be perfect because I am human, and thus given to my own perception and flawed logic.

DRO might work where you have to write in caps all of the time. Actually I find it annoying how people can take something as little as TYPING IN CAPS that far.

At my job when I have to enter stuff in the computers for people's medicaid coverage I have to write everything in caps for the program used there. If not it bitches at you for typing in lowercase.
