i think it alerts the people that they are being removed, and won't actually remove it until they confirm it

Actually, since my father can't get over AOL (Autistic Online Losers) he installs it on every computer we buy, and whenever I delete the buddies from my list in the actual AOL program, they stay deleted, but when I delete them from the AIM client, they come back.
