the first the leader was getting all high and mighty and then she asked someone to grab the items behind the fence and as soon as i went behind the fence she stepped off the button and ran away...then 2 of the other party members died and the 4th was afk in another room leaving me to deal with 2 jarba and 2 vahra from behind the fence... ^.^ and then she kicked me cuz i told her to knock off with the attitude...

the second we got into an argument over words using words... i find it funny that they used context, emphasis, and various other words wrong and then one claimed "he was a philosophy major so has precision in speach..." when any philosophy major should know that philosophers are anything but precise with words v.v doesn't really bother me as i was about to leave after the end of the run, but oh well...

people like this bother and irritate me...

The assholish members that join parties, I always pay close attention to them, they usually enter only to piss off others so I just expose them. I don't argue with leaders though, especially those who claim to have a degree in arguing lol.

Arguing over word usage...you all should have been booted from the server.

I really hate people who throw out their college education in arguments, almost as much as people who use dictionary definitions in arguments http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

That's like... Hating being factually incorrect. At least, the second part. First part's a logical fallacy. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I guess you haven't witnessed the idiots I have arguing over the internet using dictionary definitions where they really aren't needed. The first part is simply a pet peeve http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

see the thing is...using definitions has merit because it is the agreed upon meaning of the word. However claiming you have a degree or a certain education or experience and say that it gives what your saying credibility is just dumb. Especially with todays education system, including college, it means virtually nothing to "Major" in something and more so in these classes pity is given to people because it is a tough subject for many so it's fairly easy to get a degree of any sort as long as you are ok with school.

Also many classes, including college classes, are not based on understanding or interpretation of what is being taught, but merely facts and information. Basically if you can memorize 70% of a set of facts presented in class you can pass the class. In fact there are many teachers the grade down for understanding and interpretation being shown...

The thing i found irritating about the whole second group is that while they claimed to be "educated" in literature and philosophy they used many words and expressions and even general known facts about a subject wrongly ^.^

Long live the Bananas!

From what you've said earlier, your perception of college has been gained without having taken higher-level courses, for whatever reason. Which makes you partially correct.

Upper-level "hard" science courses are taught (in general) by professors with tenure. They are kept in their position in order to generate research, attention, and money. This is regardless of if they are capable teachers or not. They do not have pity. The classes are not based on rote memorization, but an understanding of all related concepts. However, they do not teach the concepts very well.

Oh, and philosophy majors generally focus on a more recent branch of thought, which is dedicated to making philosophy a hard science. Er, more of a science, anyway. Less theory, more math. I dislike philosophy courses.
