Hey, I'm a brand-new member here at Pso-world, but a long time fan of its work. I got somewhat of a question, which may be stupid to some, but here it is (after some info. about my character if that influences the decision):

Class: HUnewerl
Level: 51
ID: Redria
Location: To Vhard Mines (but I pretty much die each time I go in)

Now here's the question: I have a Delsaber's Buster and Shield but is the combination better than a Musashi? I have other weapons such as a Flowen's Sword, Bloody Art, and Blade Dance. I am curious to know what people's views are on my dilemma... and I appoligise in advance if I am asking a stupid question...

D; I tried and tried to get the delsaber arms on v. hard, but the bastards wouldn't give me anything. ;_;

Anyway, I've used blade dance, it's pretty nice, go with the weapon of the type you prefer first off, I don't know if bloody art is better than blade dance, as I never managed to find one, now I'm back on normal, so it'll be a while before I can try for it again. :/

As much as it pains me to say this to you, but getting right Delsaber's arm I got during my first trip through Ruins on Hard. However, the real challenge began when I went to try and get the other part... it took me 4 hours straight of going through "Doc's Secret Plan" and just defeating the 5 Delsabers that appeared in the first room. It was so attagonizing!! I eventually was forced to mount a Portable DVD player on top of my TV to help rid me of my boredom. What really helped though was the guide known as Tycho's where to find [item name] (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=2306). If I were you, I would definately use it (if you aren't already)...

Hey, just a question for you personally: What type of character do you have, level, etc? I can't get to go online with my PSO, which really makes playing it so boring sometimes, especially with friends who have never heard of it before...

I took a quick skan at your character list and one clear and obvious question comes into my mind: how the hell did you get to the high 80's in level? I mean, I've spent so main hours training, but only now have I got to where I am... I can't even get past 3 doors in Vhard Mines without using up all of my TP... how did you do it with a HUcast nonetheless? Maybe I'm too timid to be have a hunter character since my Vhand Mines tactic is to hit and run (especially since they fall down so nicely ;P). But how else am I supposed to do it when my character lose about 1/5 of her health eat time she's hit???

You take chances. If you play a hunter you kind of want to risk yourself.

for your dilemma id go with the buster and shield when bothe equiped they take down ALOT..and thaqts with a RAmar your hunter should have more atack power..an for the leveling thing i just now got to 80, just keep playing and youll get there, once you hit ultimate forest you get 260 exp per guy and youll fly through the levels http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif good luck

I guess that should have been apparent to me in the first place, but obviously I failed to acknowledge that when I created my character. And maybe that was a big mistake...? That certainly doesn't fit my personality (considering in plenty other video games I take defense and security over power and volnerability). Maybe I chose a Hunter character becasue the person who got me started said that they were "the easiest to play as". In the end, though, it was decision to make, and I made it. I know for certain that I could never be a Force... I am far to stingy of a person to use magic (always thinking that I need to save it). Perhaps a Ranger is a better class for me... who knows for sure, I sure don't...

well my first character, broly is a ramar and i just about flew thru the difficulties and recently reached lvl 110, all of this took over 400+ hours to do. but that's my style play like a humar but w/ guns, shots, and bazookas. i say use bloody art.
there's a few differences in types hunters have higher hp,atp, and def while the rangers have higher ata,and evade then forces have higher mst but everything else is weak.
go to the item database type in the wep's name and select your pso ver. then compare them to see which is better for your style of play.

Success as a HU relies on your ability to use the right weapon. Flowen's for gilchic swarms, handgun for Cans, blade dance sinows and garanz. gl

Never use a single weapon. If you are a hunter you should have a weapon that strikes one enemy and one weapon that strikes several enemies. You should also have a ranged weapon like a mechgun if you got strong ATP or a handhun if you got less ATP. And if you play alone alot, and decide to make a ranger, make it a RAmarl, they got strong spells and decent damage. If you dont like humans then make a RAcast.

Hey, thanks for all of the input! Although I have been out of town and unable to try out these tips and tricks, I am sure that everyone's experience will come in handy!

Well the Delsaber's Buster+Shield combo is pretty strong if I remember correctly, so you should definitely use it. As the people before me stated, you need a variety of weapons. A strong single hit weapon, a good multi hit weapon, and I personally use a handgun for the range over mechs; except in mines since I have a 40% hit 40% machine Vulcan ;o. But yeah, you pretty much fly through the levels in Ultimate. I got 145 on my Humar and like 103 on my Fomar just by hunting certain rares ;o.

whenitsquiet,

So you're having trouble in Mine, eh? Well, let me start off by saying that you seem to be doing very well considering this is your first character. Level 51 in Very Hard Mine is very good!

My first thought is, if you're having trouble in Mine, go back and replay Forest and Cave over and over and gain a few levels (gain 10 levels if you need it) before trying Mine again. Also, do some of the Forest and Cave quests, since they take away from the predictability of doing straight runs.

Also, I have a couple of questions regarding things which may be holding you back.

- Have you been working on your mag? And if so, what kind of stats have you been going for?
- Have you been looking for 4 slot armors? They can be a HUGE help if you have some decent units.
- Have you been using Shifta/Deband/Jellen/Zalure?

If you're doing the above three things correctly, and using more than one weapon like other people have already said, then I would say keep leveling up and try Mine again when you're stronger.

In that case, you should try hunting for some useful items. You're Redria, so in Very Hard Forest you can find Booma's Right Arm, Gobooma's Right Arm, Gigobooma's Right Arm, Rappy's Wing, Diska of Braveman, Photon Claw, and Yamato. In Very Hard Cave you can find a God/Body (which could really help you out), Grass Assassin's Arms, Double Saber, Angry Fist, and a God/Arm (another great addition to a 4 slot armor). Try hunting for some of those items. It's fun to see the red boxes, and most of those drops are quite easy.

And don't worry about your HUnewearl--I think you made a great choice. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Have fun.

Thanks above posters! As for you Tenakashi here are the answers to your questions:

- Have you been working on your mag? And if so, what kind of stats have you been going for?

I have a level 200 Bhriava (spelling?) with 50 DEF, 105 ATP, 20 ATA, and 25 MST

- Have you been looking for 4 slot armors? They can be a HUGE help if you have some decent units.

Yes I have, although I cannot remember what type of armor it is off the top of my head, it does have four slots.

- Have you been using Shifta/Deband/Jellen/Zalure?

Nope, I can be far too stingy when it comes to using TP...

Well don't be so stingy with your TP. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif You're a HUnewearl, anyway--all you really need it for is support. And besides, Difluids are cheap. Seriously, the Hunewearl's S/D/J/Z is one of the reasons she's popular, and using the techniques should make things easier.

alright well, why the game says hunter is easy, idk..u have to risk urself a lot, (why i love it =D) but rangers are so much easier lol, far away shots are nice.

hunewearls=great hunters, but if you dont make use of their techs, it isnt for you.
try using zonde and gizonde in there.

and for HUnewearls, thair ata sucks balls, my lv 15 racast has as much -_-, so guns really arent an option for you. their def isnt great either, my hunew takes 1/5 hits too -_-. so try getting a deband as high as you can, deband is a def boosting tech if u didnt know =D. but yea, hunews are pretty hard, but anyway, you're weapons are good for now. ^_^
if you're def if really bad like mine, you could also try this in you're slots =D

metal/body
something/battle (try at least getting devil)
elf/arm
ogre/power

if you dont have 4 slots, try and find an armor with 4, but if you cant, at least find one with 2 slots, and put in a battle unit, and a metal body =D

good luck =D

Since the majority of the enemies in the mines fall down when you hit them, it's important to have speed and accuracy with your weapon. Seeing as youre a Hunewearl, you probably dont have a very high ata, so to boost that I'd look for a sword or preferebly a partisan with some hit % on it. Partisans are weaker than swords, but the attack animation is a lot faster and their ata is higher.

For gill/dubchics you want to break them out of groups with the partisan and then take them out one by one with your saber. When you're doing this, its important not to feel obligated to finish your combo because the most important thing is keeping enemies on the ground. With a saber you should be fast enough to handle about 4 enemies using just the first attack of your combo, and though the method may be slow, its effective and you won't have to resta.

For the canadines, handguns or mechs, but mechs leave you open for about a second afterwords, or you can just use a partisan if they try to surround you because when theyre hit they move before attacking.

For sinow beats, bring a damage dealing weapon like twin swords, double sabers, or daggers. For good measure cast J/Z on them too.

For garanz, same as above but remember if you just run around them theyll kill themselves with their missiles.

Lastly, ALWAYS cast shifta and deband, its probably the only reason anyone would choose a hunewearl over any other hu. Don't be too stingy with your TP, it's there to use.

There, hope that helps.

Hey thanks for everyones help! After gaining some levels and altering the equipment I used based on the creature type... I was able to conquer Vhard Mines!! Thank you so much! Now its on the Ruins!

Good luck with the Ruins and beating Falz and getting Ultimate mode ^_^. Keep the shifta and deband always burning. Redria in Ultimate has amazing drops (God/Battle, God/Arm, Red Handgun, and that's just in Forest http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) You might try creating a new mag if you wish; might help. The Rati on my hunewearl is 5/85/50/60; a nice balance of power, ata, and magic. LOL and I just randomly remembered that I left her on VHard mines XD.

That's ironic... but thanks... I was going to replace my Bhriava with something rare... just like I replace my Kama on my RAmarl with a Rukmin. But first I have to get past those darn Damiens... they used to move so slow on Normal... but ah well, beggers can't be choosers!
