Im sure this has been discused before but its been awhile if it has.

PA Fragment- Becomes a target for enemies and defends allies for a set amount of time.

Do you think they just messed up on that one? Or do you think in AOI they will allow you to *use* the PA fragments.

It would be pretty cool to beable to set decoys like that. And if they DID mess up on the description that meens that SOME ITEM in the game has this yes?

Fixed the quote to match ingame.

Oh man ... Back when S-rank missions came out, I didn't visit PSOW, so I was pretty clueless about the real purpose of PA fragments. I was sure they were some kind of decoy item we'd get to use later.

I wonder if we--or Protransers at least--were once able to place their own gun turrets as seen in many missions. Maybe that's what the description was meant for.

I think PTs could use an item like that.

Maybe it's a description for an unreleased item? Like the way they fucked up and swapped the description of deljabener (I think) with another weapon's. So later on if they release a "decoy" item, it'll have the description the PA Frag should have.

Some people say if you have a lot with you enemys tend to attack you more than the other party members, Thats the only way it would make sence i guess.

I don't think sega has the capacity to make an AI that can do anything more than move forward --> attack.

Nah, they just fucked up the description.

I'm gonna go with this explanation.

Can anyone grab me a screen of the Japanese PA Fragment description? I'm curious if it translates as what we got or if it's something different.

Well.. if psuwiki's descriptions are the same as those ingame, it basically says that it's a fragment of a data disk of the strongest PAs that only a chosen few (as usual >_>) can use, and if you gather a bunch you can reconstruct the data. Which makes a ton more sense than the description we have..

SoA doesn't like to put effort into translating. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif I think they use Google translators!

Google Translate on the appropriate page actually comes up with something similar, so it can't be that. I honestly have no idea where they got the description they did. Maybe the JP description was recently revised?

Nothing from Mewn's file dump (http://mewn.psupedia.info/PSU/PSU%20Items.txt) seems to match this description. PA fragments are sorted on the tab for consumable items. The unknown mislabeled item could be a booster, healer or trap item.

"A target for enemies" sounds like some kind of Dizaride or Rentiride. But *rides only work on the item's user. The only items which help your "allies" are atomizers, which have celestial names. Comet atomizer? The descriptions for the EX traps also say "for a set period of time." A decoy might be some kind of Scape Trap EX.
