View Full Version : I Got Screwed!
About a week or so ago i got a pso game for gamecube...not until later on did i realize that there is supposed to be an access key and a serial key inside the box.....mine doesnt have one, and im Pissed http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif....has this happened to anyone else?....what should i do?any help will be appreciated...thanks in advance.....

As long as you bought it new there should be a serail # & key...
If it's not on the inside of the game case then you won't be able to go online.

I would take it back to the store you bought it from, explaining what happened. If they will not exchange it, I would try to get ahold of customer service at Sega... if you're lucky they might be able to exchange the copy you bought with a copy that has a proper serial number and access key.

Take it back to the original store you got it from with the receipt, and clearly explain what's wrong, why, and that you'd like to exchange it. If that doesn't work...
1-800-USA-SEGA was the old Sega customer help number, that might still work, or they'll give you a new number. I got (512)231-2429 for help with PSO v.2, that should work fine. You can also try explaining what happened on the Sega techincal help forums, but it prolly won't do much.

Man, just take it back to the store. Any good store will be happy to exchange it for you.

I feel for ya man...that is terrible. I would try to take it back, but some stores don't take back software that has been opened. What store did you buy your copy from?

i dont know if you are screwed or not. really you dont even enter the serial and access key until you try to go online. on dreamcast that had to be entered when you made a new character. so its possible that a new copy will work with your characters. as i did not have the problem that you have, i cannot say for sure what having a different disc does. unless you bought it at a "mom and pops" game store, most stores will replace defective items.
if you are "screwed", but you get a new copy, just come to anteres 8 when you get online. if you are a late night player look for Daemon or Spooner. they will be happy to tank for you until you get your character back to its lost level. there are quite a few really nice people on anteres 8 to help you.
