PS2/PC: What's the deal with all the 50% 9*'s?

I've been hanging around the trade boards a lot as of late, and all i see are trades dealing with 50% 9* weapons... It's really annoying it's like anyone who doesn't have anything close need not apply. I never owned not one 50% 9*, and it just seems odd to me that there seems to be so many around.

Just curious on when this huge tidal wave of 50%'s came into play.

Well, smart people would synth often and save their weapons. This is where the flood comes from.

Sure, one 50% 9* is good trading material, but if you can have a bunch ready you can get pretty much whatever you wanted. Almost.

One at a time is about as useful as this sticker on my new Bonecrusher toy...

Hacked meseta back in the day made it possible for people to mass produce 9* weapons.

I see, I just came on the wrong side of luck then. I saved almost all my crafts, but only thing I ever had 50% was two Falchion's *which are 6**

Both Grinded to +5 gave one to my ex and the other I still have. Oh and I did craft a 50% drk midiline so I guess... but my ID number is 664 so since day one to now I've crafte only 3 50% items. I see people who are ID number 47812924 and have like 8 of them. lol What gives xD

Now those are people(high ID) who overprice photons, get rich off them and synth like mad. There's a lot of 50%'s, but they go through a lot of failures to get them.(And that was for Runes post)

lol Well, I had 48 mil like 2 weeks ago when I first came back, bu now I think I'm down to about @10 mil left ;_; half was spent on crafting the rest given to close friends who needed money to get back on feet. My only thing i was saying is that I feel pretty sorry for new players and people like myself who don't have the time to invest and get all these uber high %'s. I want to join in on the trade game but I just hate the fact that an "A" rank unit can go for 6+ 50% weapons and all I have to trade is smiles and fake promises :/

Dang, and I'm happy just to have 15% 6* weapons. I still don't really understand, is there a glitch in the game now that lets you reliably make strong weapons, or do you guys just have way too much cash to begin with? Actually I guess I do get it, but I'll never have that much money to even try.

if they sold all of those photons to get rich, what are they using to mass synth weapons?

and if its haxeta how come someone like -Rune- who has been playing since day one and *had* 48 mil can only synth 3 items @ 50%.

An average 50% WEAPON is

15 Mill to 30 mill+

... and 48 mill isn't going to cut it

An armor is even more stupid : )

48 mill= 48 armors being made

1 armor= 1 milll

Every 32 weapons is 15-20 mill

Depends if you have the boards already inserted as well as in Photon prices

well that answers some of my questions. so it could take multiple full banks of haxeta to make several 50% weapons. now im beginning to understand why i cant get anything even close to 30%.

still dosent explain how someone can make that kind of cash selling off all of their photons (which they would need to mass synth) to get involved in this kind of endeavor.

heres how it worked. Back when hacking was rampant, there was kind of a triangle that happened. The hackers would go to player shops and buy the rediculously overpriced high % weapons. Now, the person who synthed it has a ton of cash.

They burn it up (and all their photons) making more. They sell these weapons for more crazy profit, but the money is coming in faster then the photons. Now they start buying photons in player shops. Demand goes insane, and thats where you get the overpriced photon sales.

This gives all the photon sellers enough money to raise a PM and start cranking out their own weapons/armor ect.

Thats where all the 50% weapons and armor came from. Some still pop up now and again, but ill bet most you see being traded were synthed a while ago, and just keeping changing hands for stuff like units and armor.

Notice the staggering gap between NPC items at 50% (say crimson line) vs the drop only boards (like phantom lines)

No you're not screwed. 50% weapons are extremely powerful. A 9* weapon grinded +10 = about a 9* 25%. As +10 adds the power of 2*'s to a weapon. So an 11* weapon with decent pecent should be >= a 9* 50%.

The economy is balancing out and haxeta doesn't play too much of a role in aquiring S ranks at the moment.

If you go to some peoples rooms and look at their PM, you'll see they have maxed out boards for _____. Bound to hit a few 50% synths
